My progress estimated time fluctuation.

Hi everyone,

I'm seeking some advice and clarity on my I-130 processing time. My spouse and I submitted our I-130 on October 17, 2023. Initially, the estimated processing time was 5 months. Over time, the estimated time kept decreasing, and it eventually got down to 2 days. However, it then changed to "taking longer than expected" for about 3 months.

Recently, the estimated time jumped back to 5 months, and just 2 days later, it shot up to 13 months!

Does anyone have any idea what might be happening? Do we really need to wait another 13 months? Your help and input would be greatly appreciated, guys!

Don’t pay attention to these estimates, they are highly unreliable.

As above, ignore it completely - search the forums and you'll find the same advice over and over again. It's notoriously inaccurate. Go with the official processing times (https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/) or the VJ timelines and then be pleasantly surprised if it's shorter.

You can roll a dice and get a better prediction on estimated time.

We submitted ours on Nov 7. It had a few months countdown which ended in April. To which we received the, "taken longer than usual" response. Now it says 4 weeks. 

After reading everything, we are planning for 18 months after all is said and done. Anything shorter would be amazing.
