Our jokes have been effective lately!  Here's our Official Weekly VAWA-Thread Joke (in honor of Poland's presidential runoff on Sunday):

===========================================
EYE CHART

A Polish immigrant went to the DMV to apply for a driver's license.  First, he had to take an eyesight test.

The optician showed him a card with the letters CZWIXNOSTACZYK.

"Can you read this?" the optician asked?

"Read it?!" said the Polish immigrant.  "I KNOW the guy!"

:P

@marcoisland777Hey there… congratulations on your recent approval. Would you mind to share how was your interview? Was the officer nice? What kind of questions did they ask about the abuse?

OBSERVATIONS

When people say, "You look so familiar," responding with "Were we in prison together?" almost always stops the conversation.

I saw a cable repairman on the street today.  He asked me what time it was.  I told him that it was sometime between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.  Two can play at that game!

My wife crashed the car again today.  She told the police that the man she collided with was on his mobile phone and drinking a beer.  The police said, "He can do what he likes in his own living room!"

It's Sunday already!  Time for our tension-relieving Official Weekly VAWA-Thread Joke:

===========================================
ABOUT MARRIED LIFE...

Love is patient.  Love is kind.  Love is my husband pretending not to see the three Amazon packages on the porch.

Being at Costco is so embarrassing.  Oh, let me just get my eyes checked while I shop for a gallon of minced garlic and my wife is lost in the Brita filter section.

Wife: "Did you speak to our tax guy yet?"  Me: "Yeah, I'm literally texting him now."  What I'm typing: "Ground beef implies the existence of sky beef."

Have you ever wondered what it's like being a husband?  One day you're low on toothpaste, and the next day a new tube appears.

Me:  "God gives His toughest battles to His strongest soldiers."

Wife:  "They're literally just out of fountain Diet Coke."

Watching a movie from 1935 with my wife when a dog appears on screen:  "That dog's dead now."

I told my wife that she should embrace her mistakes.  She gave me a hug.

My husband has arrived home with emotional-support fried chicken.  And took the baby.  This is why he's my favorite.

I ask my husband "Did you sleep well?" only as a segue to tell him how poorly I slept.

Guys, my husband just cured my anxiety.  He said, "Just don't worry about it," and OMG why have I never tried that before?!

My wife just called pillowcases "pillow outfits."

My husband is doing this really annoying thing where he refuses to say exactly what I want him to, word-for-word.

My wife just fixed herself lunch and left a single piece of bread.  So after 15 years, the relationship finally has a villain.

Just finished an estate-planning session with my husband, and, just FYI, our lawyer says you don't get a discount for simplifying things with a suicide pact.

Do an infopass? Not sure if they schedule them in NYC, last time I've been at Federal Plaza it was basically a walk-in thing with a line like at the DMV.

You can also try to call the help line and try to get the date/time at very least. Showing up with no notice is better than not showing up at all.

I truly can’t thank this community enough. You were here through the tough, messy, and uncertain days, and sharing this milestone with you just reminds me how powerful people and communities can be.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

To those still in the middle of the process: don’t give up. Your moment is coming — stay strong and keep going.

Field Office: NYC
Same-day interview and oath (yes, you can ask for it!)
No questions about how I got my green card
Extremely kind and welcoming officer

Onwards!

Congratulations so happy for you.

It is Wednesday, and it's time for our highly effective Semiofficial Semiweekly VAWA-Thread Joke:

===========================================
VERY PUNNY

I asked my North Korean friend how it was there, and he said he couldn't complain.

I haven't talked to my wife in three weeks.  I didn't want to interrupt her.

I saw a sign that said, "watch for children," and I thought that it sounded like a fair trade.

My wife and I were happy for twenty years, and then we met.

My wife told me to stop impersonating a flamingo.  I had to put my foot down.

The first time I got a universal remote control, I thought to myself, "This changes everything."

My grandfather has the heart of a lion and a lifetime ban from the city zoo.

I refused to believe that my road-worker father was stealing from his job, but when I got home, all the signs were there.

People say I'm condescending.  That means I talk down to people.
