It does need to be updated, that's why they have the question in the N400 application about whether or not you want to submit your SSN and have USCIS send it over to SS admin or if you want to do it yourself.

USCIS published an update to their policy manual in August 2023, they are promoting voter registration services for new citizens. That said, if local government or non-governmental organizations choose not to attend the naturalization ceremonies, you still need to take care of it yourself. I would find it cool if I could register to vote the same day!

Might all differ by state. I can register to vote online and only need my DL in NJ.

Photo will be taken and it might go on the naturalization certificate.

You just show up, fill out a form with name, height, hair color... then they'll call you to the back where they take a picture, your fingerprints and your signature. That's all.

Thank you, friend.

Hello April filers!

Both my husband and I trying to file new N400 online, but run into the same problem. In Your Family -> Marital Status they ask only 3 questions : 1. What is our current marital status? 2. Is your current spouse currently a member of the U.S. armed forces? and 3. How many times have you been married? We both answer 1. Married 2. No and 3. 1. After that it takes us straight to Children section. The form doesn't ask us anything about the spouse. That is very strange. Paper form does contain the whole section with your current spouse information. Online N400 before April 1, 2024 contained this section as well. The form doesn't ask about spouse name, their green card number, etc.... Is it the same for everybody?  When you filed after April 1, 2024 where these 3 questions the only questions asked? Maybe USCIS knows everything about us and we don't need to provide this information again. I am confused.

Which rule are you applying under? Are both of you applying for N-400 or just one of you?

I'm at 515 days now for ROC. It's wild 😫

I feel like I learned nothing out of all these years. I want to hear something about the biometrics. No patience whatsoever 🤣

I did however just uploaded the letter for the combo interview request. Not gonna hurt anybody I guess.

I saw that others here have done that who ate also still waiting for their ROC. Basically just a short letter pointing out that you're still waiting for ROC and requesting that the roc interview be waved or having a combo interview for roc and naturalization.

Apparently some experienced showing up expecting a combo interview and the officer didn't even knew they had an active ROC. So they only did the naturalization part and then had to wait even longer till ROC finally caught up.

Hey yall!

Jumping in the April N400 line! Submitted my form today and asked for expedite as I am using Chapter 319b as my husband got government related  job outside U.S and i am on his orders. I did biometrics last year in Autumn and thought that they will reuse it but unfortunately did not get a straight notice after submition that they will do it .

Good luck to everyone!

Welcome. Hope it goes over smooth and easy for you. I didn't get the notice either and haven't heard something since applying. Still hoping for a biometrics reuse 🤞
