Hello, I hope you are all doing well. I wanted to make a discussion for mandamus lawsuit for anyone who has field it or plans to. We all need positivity during this tough time, and we could all help each other.

We filed the lawsuit 2 weeks ago.

Our case was expedited because of my medical problems. I had two surgeries in 2 years, and i am dealing with a lot of medical problems. My Wifes interview went well but for no reason they told her to fill out form ds5535. On the form it only asked for her brothers and I’s names and date of births and her travel and employment history (she has none!!!!!) it should not be taking this long.

And the fact that they know what we are going through as they expedited our case and its been 8 months…. This delay has been making our lives so much harder then it already is.

Do you guys think my lawsuit would be successful? Its just so hard, I need some optimism and positivity.

Update. So today after 40 days, our case updated on CEAC but, its still refused.

Is this a good sign, maybe they have received the lawsuit and are now processing and checking our case?

Impossible to know

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Hello and Salam Brother.

Please let us know where your case stand?

This whole DS-5535 is just so painful . As you said you are ill and this is the time when you need your wife the most. I am so angry why Islamabad embassy issued Ds-5535 to your wife who never left Pakistan(No travel history), Never enter USA , A woman(no security threat) .

I am also going throw this pain , I am in AP under DS-5535 from over 3 months now. I waited 3  years for my interview (yes just for interview) . VO only did hello hey with me and issued me Ds-5535 .............. This system is broke.

Now about good news , I can only tell my search what I find out spending time online  , 50% cases under DS-5535 in Islamabad get resolved in 4 months to 10 months , 26% 10 months to 15 months remaining can take 15 months to 24 months or even more.

I can only Pray Your and My case is in those 50% and get resolved as quick as possible.

The security threat thingy is what they are checking for.

How will  they do it and under what criteria ? She never left Pakistan which means no travel history , she never entered US which means no Data in USA......The only reason I can think of is, She is in AP only because she is young educated MUSLIM Pakistani girl. Thats IT.
