I’m the petitioner and we need a joint sponsor. Yes I’m a us citizen born and raised, the JOINT sponsor only been here for 2 1/2 years. He has his green card

Just make sure to file correctly the joint sponsor part, the i864. If I were you, I will look into a US Citizen to be the joint sponsor instead of a green card holder. Especially when the Green Card holder just arrived to the country and was also sponsored by someone else.

Also, make sure the joint sponsor does not currently lives in your household, otherwise you need to submit another form, I believe is the form i864A

Good luck and keep us posted.

And my advice is to ignore the above.  A green card holder can act as joint sponsor. PERIOD  And, I've already given the proper instruction for dealing with the tax return issue.

With all the respect I was just given my personal opinion, I do apologize if my opinion was wrong or misinformed, it was never my intention at all. I will carefully review my opinion from now on before posting a comment again.

Thanks!

Good.  Please add the practice of reading the previous advice, and avoiding speculating based on uninformed "feelings".

Pushbrk what does the joint sponsor need ? Because I’m reading different things everywhere

Don't read "everywhere".  Just become an A-Student of the I-864 instructions.  If you have remaining questions, ask them right here.

Ok thank you! The joint sponsor lives with his siblings and mom, does that count as his household? Even if he isn’t financially responsible for them

For our joint sponsor; Can he fill out the form & sign it, take photos of each page and have us upload it as a pdf to nvc website? Or do you physically send the form to nvc

You won't be physically sending anything to NVC.

Ok and the joint sponsor says that he only has to sign the i-864 but I have to fill everything else on the i-864 is this true? Or do me & the joint sponsor have to fill out two separate i-864 forms?

Two separate forms.  Start by studying those I-864 instructions.
