Losing hope my K1 case will be transferred

After receiving a NOA2 I've been constantly contacting embassies all around the globe in hopes of getting my K1 case transferred, but no luck. I still don't have an NVC case number yet but so far the responses from embassies have been disappointing, stating that either they don't serve non-residents or that my case doesn't qualify for their definitions of life or death situations.

 

Have any Russians lately had any luck transferring their K1's from Warsaw to anywhere they don't have a residency permit?

 

The assigned embassy in Warsaw would require me to get a Schengen visa and that means going back to Russia just to apply for one. I don't think it's possible to do it remotely because it's been well over 5 years since my last visa to EU. I'm a man in my mid twenties and I know that out of millions of candidates my chances of being sent to die on the frontline in Ukraine aren't that high but I'm going to have a heart attack just thinking about it going back there even for a few weeks.

 

I'll take any suggestions for transfers at this point that doesn't have ridiculously long queue's like apparently well over a year in Mexico, simply because I can't afford to travel for that much longer.

You can't apply for a Schengen visa abroad?

Have you contacted Kazakhstan? They accepted my mother’s case this summer. Although it’s not the same type of visa , but might work.

They mentioned other embassies don't serve non-residents so I assume they don't have a residency anywhere which is also required for Schengen.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought they were evacuating a lot of staff and the situation with interviews is complicated due to war there? I can't imagine they still accept transfers

Hmmm are there not visa application centers in other countries though? Maybe ask in this thread if anyone was able to successfully get a Schengen visa in another country without being a resident:

We transferred our case to Jerusalem a few days before the war started. So then we emailed Bishkek and they were willing to accept our case but by the time they replied, Jerusalem started doing interviews again so we decided to stay there. So maybe try contacting Bishkek?

It's not possible. We tried. You have to apply in your home country or where you have permanent residence.

Bishkek - they might still be accepting transfers. Response time in our case was about one week (after an initial automatic response)

Jerusalem - are they taking new cases?

 

The most logical places to try are where Russian language is spoken. We got declined by Dushanbe (Tajikistan) however. Another one you might try is Ashgabat (Turkmenistan) because probably nobody tries to transfer there. You need a visa to enter Turkmenistan though, even as a Russian citizen. 

How about Baku? Did you contact them?

You can try to get a long-term visa somewhere, like Thailand, and apply that way. I don't know if you necessarily need a "residence permit", a long-term resident on a visa may also be considered. I've seen mixed things. I do know someone who got their EU visa in Armenia using a mail service. 

You might look into some kind of work visas, this may give you "residence" and the ability to work and fund your stay at the same time. Good luck, it's a terrible process.

Can your fiancee contact her Congressional representative and request they intervene on your behalf? Given the right spin, your narrative should get you special consideration in most consulate units thoughout the post-Soviet bloc. I agree this will be your best bet, because trying to find a Russian-speaking consular officer elsewhere may be challenging.

As there are no issues with your English obviously, try Mongolia, Thailand (recently accepted a few cases without any visa or residency, but you would need a "not married certificate" from ZAGS and a letter from a Senator), Nicaragua, Dominican republic. It took about 5 months to receive an interview letter in Mexico, but that fiancée was a resident.

Sadly, Mongolia won't accept transfers from Russia.  Small consulate (2 consular officers at most) and probably no way to verify the authenticity of Russian documents.  Some of the -stan countries might also be unprepared to accept such requests.

The reason I mentioned Mongolia specifically is that the Embassy there has actually agreed on taking one of cases of Russian citizens recently. However that applicant chose another Embassy, so no further information.

But agree that a K1 applicant from Russia has more chances in Latin America even, considering the Israel doesn't accept any new cases for now.

That's great news.  If it was posted here, I missed it.  If you know the details, please post them.
