hello all; been in Scotland, now I'm back :)

congrats to all those approved while I was gone... and it was a fair few, I was glad to see! :D

re the 'RFE trick' - while I don't think rudeness on the part of the USCIS worker is EVER acceptable, I also think it can be a bit rich of us to call, blatantly lying about 'thinking we have an RFE', and then get mad when they're shirty that the number was misused... it's for RFEs; if we call it for something else, don't you think we're taking the risk of being told to sod off? ;)

in any case, my fiancé, in his innocence at the start of the process, called the regular USCIS number about four times, ALWAYS got someone informed and reasonably helpful, and was able to discuss the entire process

of course, we didn't think anything of it at the time, but now I wonder how that happened... admittedly, we weren't asking for case-specific information, but then neither are some others who are trying the RFE trick for the same outcome

I asked him last night how long he had to wait on hold, and he said 'maybe six or seven minutes', and then always went through to someone who helped him

dunno what's going on there...

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

Yeah, thanks for the advice. <_< I don't think it is "rich" as you put it to try to find out about our case the only way we have.

thanks Rodgiegirl---I feel my tears just below the surface. It's all I can do to work today without crying. I used to read filers before us and how stressed they were and I thought "they just need to be cool". But now I understand. I feel that a bunch of strangers have our future in their hands and I have no control over it. It has to be soon, Alane & Ramzis :(:(

I just checked the mail and nothing... :( This wateing is horrible...... Why does our country take so long with this. . I think goverment officals really don't care about anyone but themselvs.. This is so frustrating. I had too much faith that I would get it in the mail like others did. It's just not fair that my future is on hold due to "red tape". I just want to cry..
