"Plan to approve you" ... What now?

Finished the most insanely quick and simple interview ever. The consular officer said that she planned to approve me BUT one of her systems was down and she couldn't officially approve until the system was back.

And, that if when the system came up and they need anything else they will "let me know".

Of course I asked for clarification because I am not clear on how I will know once I am official and she was unclear on how long it would take.

She kept my passport and gave me a sheet on how to track my passport/visa.

I asked questions but feel very unclear on how to know if I am officially approved? Will the CEAC site show this?

Still kind of spinning.

The CEAC status will change to "Issued".  That is the only definitive way to know.

Where does the status of one's case show up on the site?

It doesn't change after interview, so it's the same site as previously - https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx

And once you've paid the GC fee you use the same site again to check the status of it's production and when it's sent but use your receipt number from that instead.

HTH.

I just had the exact same experience. How long did it take you to get your passport back or are you still waiting?

I had passport and visa in hand 2 days after my interview... It was crazy quick! Good luck!
