FORGOT TO SUBMIT AN IMPORTANT DOCUMNET I751. ADVICE NEEDED!!!

Pls i have 2 questions.

 

 

Backstory :  I forgot to add an important supporting document when i sent in my i751. When i filed, USCIS created an online account for me and sent me a receipt notice with this information and login details. My Receipt No. starts with IOE (which mean processing online). 

So i login into my new account and i saw my i751 application but i was shocked to see just one page of a random supporting document amongst the hundreds i mailed in physically with my application. So, i assumed one random document was what was needed to create the account and i didn't put much thought to it no longer because i had mailed in all my supporting documents.

 

1. So this is where my first question comes in. Was this the same situation for those of you that got the IOE receipt no. after mailing in your application?? Was one random document just uploaded for you when your online account was created?

2. and here comes my second question
Now, i want to go ahead and upload the important document i forgot about to my online account. Is that a good idea? what should i do?

1.  Yes.  Many people with IOE case numbers that were scanned from paper submissions see only a tiny portion of what the sent in their online account.  For my current I-751 I see ONLY the photos I sent scanned (poorly) into my online account.  EVERYTHING else is not there.   Apparently that is normal.  Prior to paper I-751 cases getting scanned and getting IOE numbers the same situation existed with I-130s that were submitted on paper and received IOE numbers.  It is that way 'just because' and cases have been getting approved and no one is getting RFE's over it not being in the online account.  So it seems USCIS can still see it on their end even if you can't.

 

2.  The unsolicited evidence in the online account seemed to be helpful or at least not harmful with my IOE I-130.   I'm assuming now it would be the same with an IOE I-751.

I've decided to Upload the document i forgot to mail in. Afterall, i don't see no harm in uploading additional supporting documents.

Before re-sending them, you could do a FOIA request for part of your A# file, from the date right before you submitted your i-751 to present. That will show everything that they have and will tell you if anything went missing (although big chunks of many documents will be redacted).

Side question @mindthegap - Have you been working on getting your 751 since 2015? Or am I reading your history wrong? 8 years for a 751 is ridiculous. I hope you get approved soon. Can't even imagine how stressful that must be.

No, your reading is fine, and that is correct. First I-751 was filed in early 2015. 

And yes, it is a level of stress above & beyond.
