'Gabster41' - What is the notice date on your NOA1's?

Went to Biometric appt this morning at 8am, only 4 or 5 other people there at that time in St Louis Fed bldg, go in get clipboard, get instructions on how to fill out the blank sheet on clipboard, hand over letter for Biometric appt, show id, sit down fill out, first come first serve, then go back behind counter and they take fingerprints and pictures, then double check your clipboard sheet matches up with the passport or whatever ID you have or marriage certificate and social security card. Then done in about 5 to 7 minutes total! In and out of there within 17 minutes! And no other people coming in to wait at 8:30 or whatever so not sure if they do it on an hourly basis or 30 minute time slot. Anyway told we would now wait for AOS infopass letter to schedule appt for interview next unless case is transferred back to Chicago

Just thought I would share with you what happened to us today. Oh and no cameras, or cell phones or video cameras in bldg, will check you at entrance just like going to airport TSA!

:no: Received two NOA today for I-130 and I-485.

BUT ai! I see two big glaring mistakes/issues on them. I know right.......here I am all excited then this!!!

Well first my address is wrong. Lets say my address is 123 lincoln 456, littletown, america

They addressed it as 123 lincoln APT 456, littletown, america

Its not such a big deal coz i obviously still received the mail - but.... you know what if i don't next time

Another issue is that the NOA for my I-485 has my last name as my husbands last name, and the NOA for the I-130 has my last name.

I hyphenate my name, and made sure to write both last names hyphenated on all forms so this is kind of a surprise.

It says to call some number and let them know immediately if there is a mistake, but honestly i hate calling because i always get a different answer for the same question when i call.

Has anyone had this happen? Should I just make an Infopass???????

Congrats on getting the NOA's. Good luck with getting your name and address corrected. I'd say try calling first and if they are no help then make the infopass appointment. BTW, what is the notice date on your NOA's?

Hmmmmmm Im looking at timelines and hardly anyone applying for AOS whose application was received at the lockbox on the 24th of July or after has gotten an interview. So not sure what you are referring to? My application got there on the 25th of July and I havent received an appointment letter yet. Am i missing something here

July 24, 2007: Mailed all paperwork to Chicago (Wish us luck)

Aug 31, 2007: Biometrics Appointment

Sep 1, 2007: Received NOA1 (Dated Aug 29)

Nov 25, 2007: Received notice for interview in Baltimore, MD (No touches, nothing online to date)

Jan 22, 2008: Interview in Baltimore, MD. Went well.

Jan 29, 2008: Can finally track I-130 online. Approved.

Hello Augusters!

I just wanted to share my experience from my Biometrics appointment in Oakland, CA this past Saturday. First of all, it took us two rounds around the block to actually recognize the correct building. We were expecting a high brick sturdy federal bldg, and what we found was a little wooden two story shed with a sign "Application Support Center" above the door. No mention of USCIS on the outside of the house whatsoever.

Even though the appointment letter says not to bring any people with you, they let my husband in with me without any problem or ID check (maybe it was because the security guy thought my husband looked like the 49er's coach!). No security check, no mention about cell phones or recording devices not being allowed. I was given a number and a form to fill out before my number was called. I was just about finished when they called me to the check-in desk.

The employee looked at the appointment letter, checked my passport, my marriage certificate (I changed my name) and wanted to see my hands to make sure I don't have any wounds. He then sent us upstairs where the actual process took place. It was just a little wait before they called me, took fingerprints of all fingers (at least twice!), scanned my signature and took a picture. That was it. It was all very easy and smooth, my husband was allowed to stand right next to me during the whole process. We were in and out in about 25 minutes. Oh, and we came about half an hour early, so got out just at 1pm - which was my actual appointment time.

For those who still have this Biometrics ahead - I hope it will be as smooth for you as it was for me.

Congrats on getting the NOA's. Good luck with getting your name and address corrected. I'd say try calling first and if they are no help then make the infopass appointment. BTW, what is the notice date on your NOA's?

Sorry about that the notice dates on mine are 9/13 and received dates are 8/17.

I tried calling yesterday and I got an automated thing telling me my receipt numbers were not in the system. Oh well i will figure it out

Yes, I did. I received my biometrics appointment letter on Sep 4; the appointment date was Sept 28 in Indianapolis. I read somewhere that if the local office is not busy, typically it's ok to go early. You just need to show up and see if they can accomodate you. Since I had to drive 2 hours to the Indianapolis USCIS center, I was a bit apprehensive driving there and not being able to get fingerprinted. I tried to call the center beforehand to ask whether it was ok, but couldn't find any direct phone numbers. So I made an appointment thru InfoPass just in case the security guard won't let me in the building without an appointment. My other worry was that my case status wouldn't show up online, it seemed like their database wasn't updated yet. I suspected that the local office might not be able to see my case in their system, and in that case they can't take my fingerprints. But I threw caution to the wind.

Anyways, I showed up at the Indianapolis USCIS building on Sep 6th for my biometrics, although the letter said Sep 28th. The security guard didn't ask me whether I had an appointment (just in case, I had an InfoPass appointment to speak to an immigration specialist). Inside, I showed my biometrics appointment letter and explained that I wanted to get it done early if possible. They made me fill out a form, and then I had my fingerprints taken. Done. The next day I was able to check my case status online; I couldn't do it before.

hello there i am a august filer...we sent our papers on august 14th...they recieved it august 16th....

as of sept 17,2007 we recieved our NOA's from our AOS and EAD applications.....Now we wait for biometrics fingerprinting date........
