I'm back.

I was suffering from a long and severe bout of "way too much to do and not nearly enough time", but I have found a cure.

At the end of today I started a week and a half vacation, sort of.  Saturday we will pick up one of my wife's friends from back in the city they were living in in Russia.  She also did a K-1 and married a guy in the God forsaken state of Texas.  She's flying in from Dallas and will stay with us for a week.  We hadn't heard from her in several years and it turns out she had wanted to visit the Keys and Key West but then found out how expensive it was to stay there and then thought about us.  Now we are great friends again!  I don't mind having her, and she was one of my wife's first friends I met on my first trip to Russia, BUT I'm still a little mad at her because the first time she met me, and questioned me when my wife was in the restroom, she later that day told my wife "he will never marry you"...

We pick her (Lena) up Saturday morning and head immediately to the Keys.  Unfortunately my wife decided she needed backup and invited her daughter and the grandkids (spoiled rotten boys) to come down to the Keys for the duration. The dad is going to be out of town and the daughter needs to work (remotely).   This is NOT my idea of vacation and I refuse to baby sit two kids while I try to do my R&R.  We will see how this turns out.  Looks like heavy drinking will be necessary.  And plenty of time on the water fishing.  Alone.

Ok, my view of driving in India.  Been to a lot of countries, and so far India takes it as far as driving.  Lane markings are just a suggestion, no such thing as a no passing zone on a two lane roadway, shoulders are meant to be used, horns are used extensively (not in aggression apparently), and turn signals are optional.  All that and they drive on the wrong side of the road!  😂😂😂

Eye opening, and of course anecdotal as I have not been anywhere in Africa yet.

Alone.

yeah yeah, too much sun and surf to enjoy............

Eye opening, and of course anecdotal as I have not been anywhere in Africa yet.

i've seen a few middle eastern countries that could give them a challenge.

Sounds a lot like where my wife lived in Russia.  I remember taking the taxi bus and traffic was backed up so the driver drove down the sidewalk.
