US Citizen Filing for an Indian citizen who currently is on a student status in Canada

Embassy: Montreal, Canada

Potomac Service Center

 

Married: 05-05-2022

i130 application: 06-11-2022

i130 under review: 06-12-2022

 

Can anyone provide an insight on the timeline please?

If spouse will interview in Canada and not return to India,  he should get the criminal report for the next step ASAP as this takes time

i need to say if his name is like your profile and its Patel there are so many Patel's here that he may have a name familiar with another and this can cause delays /hopefully not

A few mote months for the I-130 approval.

 

2-3 months for NVC submittals and DQ.

 

6 months or so to get scheduled for interview after DQ.

 

Summary:  a year longer, give or take a few months.
