We are almost done with the NVC and will hopefully submit everything within a couple days, but while checking the I-864 again, my wife noticed that the Korean Won to USD bank statement that the Korean Banks gave us says "Certificate Of Deposit Balance".  At first we added everything for me in Part 7, number 1. Enter the balance of all the savings and checking accounts. But in number 3it says "Enter the current cash value of the stocks, bonds, certificate of deposit...."

The money that we have in our Korean Banks is not in CD's or anything, but just in a saving account.

My question is, even though it says "Certificate of Deposit Balance", should we put the USD amount in number 3 where it says "Enter the current cash value of the stocks, bonds, certificate of deposit....?

Below is an image of the document we got. NH NongHyup is one of the bank names.

What you have is a

Certificate of a Deposit Balance : a document that certifies the balance of a deposit account.

not a

Certificate of a Deposit Balance : a statement of the current balance of CD, which is deposit account where the balance is held for a specific time.

Two completely different things.

You, me, and the OP know that, but the NVC person might not.  That said, either way will work.  They'll still get the fake RFE saying the income isn't enough.  They can just ignore that.

Yes, I can't expect the NVC person to know everything. Even my wife and I got confused thinking it was a "Certificate of Deposit".

I made a small tutorial on how to read the document. I also wrote on the top with exactly as this:

Please note, this is a Certificate Of Deposit Balance and not a Certificate Of Deposit.

I need to double check if this is correct or not. We are using our liquid assets in Korea from our bank accounts.  My wife has accounts in her bank called Time Deposits.  Will that go in part 8 where it says "Enter the current value of the principal immigrant's stocks, bonds, certificates of deposit, and other....."? From what I understand, a time deposit is like a CD (certificates of deposit)?

Please look at the images below.

@pushbrk

Do you know if a Certificate of Deposit Balance from the image on top be considered a Bank Statement?

Yes, of course.
