Single entry Schengen lol

My fiance's Spanish schengen visa is single entry despite him asking for a multi-entry visa, even with his squeaky clean and extensive travel history with no visa violations

So just FYI I guess this can happen

I have no idea what we're going to do now

yeah unfortunately is at the discretion of the consulate. is this the first time he apply for schengen visa?

it happened to many people especially if the never step on europe soil

in 2016 i applied for 90 days schengen visa multiple entries and they gave it to me and i used 86 days of it. but i wrote extensive itineraries. guess u can ask them if u have solid reason ( in writing)

Same. My fiancé just got a 15 day - single entry Spanish visa. She has been to the EU three times, one of those trips being as soon as last September. And another of those trips was to Spain. It's a complete lottery

The trip in September was on an Italian visa, and they gave us a month, multiple entry visa. We decided to do Spain now because it was faster. And yeah it was actually very fast. Found as spot on Jan 13th, for an appointment on Jan 20th, got our visa back Jan 27th.

Thanks for sharing your experiences everyone, it's especially frustrating because he's guaranteed going to miss his Warsaw interview and our case has already been renewed once by the Polish consulate. I'm worried the consulate won't renew it over 1 year.

Besides paying for a new ds-160, are there any other problems with you not interviewing within a year of your noa2...? My fiance fled Russia in February and had to wait 6 months before being eligible to apply for a Schengen within his new country of residence (Armenia), so we had to push the interview back a LOT.

I spent the day emailing countries with visa free travel for Russian nationals if they'll take our case... Fingers crossed Kazakhstan says yes... (Germany said they would take us but our Schengen got denied lol)

We recently transferred to Kazakhstan pretty quickly, I think it's the best option out there and they seemed responsive. Good luck!

I heard Uzbekistan was amicable too.

Please do let us know how it goes as I'm sure there are many others in similar situations.

I will email but I believe Uzbekistan has a small embassy like Armenia and the wait times would be insane

Germany's wait time was 27 weeks, Armenia's was over a year so they flat out rejected us and said they're prioritizing citizens

No one has replied to my transfer requests so far and I just feel so dejected about this all... Our noa2 and ds160 are approaching the 1 year mark and I don't know if it can be renewed further

Kazakhstan said no, Georgia told me to cancel my Warsaw interview then they'd consider letting us transfer but no guarantees, Taiwan told me I had the wrong email but I only found one email online. Brazil said no, Armenia said no.

I'm losing it, how are we supposed to do anything. We can't get to Poland, we can't transfer out...?

Our case is getting close to the 1 year extension. Can it even be renewed over one year?

There's a rumble on Telegram chats about a US petitioner who contacted Department of State claiming they are requiring her beneficiary to break a law in order to make it to Warsaw as Poland doesn't allow Russians in. Allegedly, they got their case transferred to Serbia and just got their interview completed.

That is literally what they're asking us to do though 😂 she's not wrong!!

This doesn't help the rest of us though, I'm still waiting on a response from Israel and Serbia, and I'm going to try to call Taiwan tomorrow and make a case for myself...

I'm not sure if my transfer to KZ was approved because I'm doing a spousal visa, or if I just caught a clerk when they were feeling happy on a Monday morning, or if their policy changes weekly, but I did include in our email request the following (along with other context):

"given the current situation and legal challenges for Russians to enter Poland, I would like to ask if it is at all possible to transfer her interview from Warsaw embassy to the Almaty Consulate General."

Human factor is everything, it seems.

I tried for an expedite on Valentine's.

Tier 1 Clerk was amazing. Polite. Patient. Cheerful. Wished me Happy Valentine's.

Tier 2 Clerk shut down the expedite in 17 minutes from creation.
