I have not. I've done everything to the letter.

 

But USCIS is now asking for more things than the original form had provided. Here's an RFE that a friend of a friend got recently (attached). This is the data I want to provide.

 

I haven't actually sent any letters yet. But I want to prepare one this weekend.

 

And I booked an unexpected extra trip to see my beneficiary just to build up the time spent together factor.

Exactly! There's an urge to re-check, to update, to ensure.

 

In my research I noticed a lower rate of RFE / a higher rate of approvals for those who kept trying to change things - name, address, an expedite.

 

While I'm by no means suggesting we flood Emma chat with expedite requests (a queue for those is up to 2 months now), I have to admit that they might signal that the relationship is ongoing.

Hmm, I wonder if such an RFE is based on any factors at all. Like age gap, previous marriages or anything like that. Interesting though. Thanks for sharing!

The reasoning for one might, but the format does appear to be standard - this is not the first time I'm seeing the same set of questions.

 

Hopefully, someone with an actual RFE would chime in, but I wonder if the increase in processing times is causing the increase in RFEs: a couple may have met within two years prior to filing, but have they met within two years prior to their application having been checked by USCIS?

Its normal to feel paranoid after so much time passes, I did the same thing.

 

Don't waste your time sending anything to USCIS now, it will just be returned to you and not accounted for. Wait for them to contact you if they need something from you they will issue RFE.

 

Lynx - I did receive that same RFE last week. Here's what I sent:

 

-My partners letter of intent to marry me within 90 days of arrival (signed by both of us) During original application I only submitted one for myself.

-Statements from friends and family who are aware of the relationship and future marriage, signed and dated by them.

-Ongoing correspondence about future plans (Whatsapp screenshots)

-EVIDENCE OF SUBSEQUENT MEETINGS: I went hard on this one. Since we have had 2 more visits since the time of filing I sent them the boarding passes, tons of photos together and receipts from different things we did around the city. The ring is noticeable in many of the photos, and I made sure to include a couple photos of us kissing, holding hands etc...

 

It may be because my partner lives in South America, I heard that might be a factor when requesting the validity of the relationship or other details. Not sure though.

Be careful of sending photos of your ring.  I recall hearing a few times of people getting denied because they assumed it was a wedding ring and not an engagement ring.  I actually did the opposite and only included photos without rings or I cropped the rings out.  Didn't want to risk them assuming I was already married.
