hello everybody
i would like to be helped with this confunsion i have.
I am sept filler 2021 and already approved now we are waiting for the next steps. I'm the beneficiary and I have a US son with my fiancé. My baby has already his crba and passport. My fiancé does not meet the poverty guidelines and for that reason we are asking his brother to be our joint sponsor.  His brother has 1 dependent.

My question is does the joint sponsor will just sponsor myself or do i have to count my US son and my fiancé?

Please help!! i don't know how to count the sponsor's family size.

WOULD I COUNT 3 MEMBERS ON FAMILY SIZE SINCE HE HAS ONE DEPENDENT (JOINT SPONSOR + HIS DAUGTHER+ME)?

OR WOULD I COUNT 5 MEMBERS (JOINT SPONSOR + HIS DAUGTHER+MY SON+ MY PETITIONER+ ME)?

PLEASE HELP

3.

And if JS has a partner, it becomes 4 AND the partner will have to sign I-864A

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

im interested to know as well, and in my understanding :

you are the main sponsor :

for you : 3 ( you, ur husband, the baby)

for the joint sponsor : 3 ( the sponsor, his daughter, ur husband) unless the JS has spouse, then it's 4 like what @Timona said

it's gonna be 2 forms to fill. one for u, one for him. and if the joint sponsor has spouse, another form i-864A

Please clarify -- you are pursuing a K1 visa, right?

Sounds like the final number is 6 for now:

- your fiancé

- his brother

- yourself

- your son

- your brother

- your brother's dependent

However

For income limit's I'd be prepared for 7 as life happens:

- his brother's dependent

So, is his brother making at the very least $53K a year?

Edit: I got lost in all the relations. My ask remains as $53K as I think further forms up the %% required.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hello! I am looking for an expert in the I-134 form who can guide me with the completion of the form for my joint sponsor.

To understand my case, my family is conform of my fiancé who is a US citizen, my son who is also a US citizen and myself. Therefore my family consists of 3 members.

We are going to use my fiancé's brother as a joint sponsor. Now, he has a dependant who is his only daughter. In addition to that, He lives with her daughter's mother but she is still married to her ex-husband, so they don't combine or fill taxes.

They are co parenting and living together, that's it.

Here is the confusion.... When we fill out the form, would his brother (joint sponsor) be providing support to only myself ?  Does his family would be made up of him and his daughter? Or would he include her daughter's mother? Would we also count my son in the I-134 of the joint sponsor?

PLEASE HELP!

I WANNA HAVE IT CLEAR AND DO NOT MAKE MISTAKES. MY COUNTRY IS UNDER A POLITICAL CRISIS AND CIVIL WAR, WE ARE TRYING TO EXPEDITE AND GATHER ALL THE DOCS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

Your son shouldn't be counted.

He should count you, him, his daughter.  Total 3.
