What's the best way in your guys' opinion to show beneficiary information? A print out of the beneficiary page of an investing account (i.e. 401k) and then a summary of the 401k? I don't need to print out every statement for that particular 401k right?

Usually the company that has your investing account can send you a letter that shows the beneficiaries. That, to me, makes it more "official"

Hope you all had a happy thanksgiving.

I'm getting ready to mail - I'm likely going to do UPS next day Air. Do you all know if it matters what physical box I put the documents in?

Everything fits quite snugly in a shoe box but I didn't want to appear unprofessional

I don’t think it matters, but a shoe box is not really safe to send documents. I would take the package to UPS and purchase one of their boxes

Hello all,

I am sure the answer is somewhere in here, but I can't find it.  Regarding shared utilities and car loans...do I need to show ALL statements from marriage on OR can I just show we share the utility/loan.  I DID include all statements for credit cards and joint bank accounts, but was just wondering about the other things.  Thanks.

I wouldn't send every monthly statement for accounts/bills outside of joint bank accounts/cards. We have one joint car loan, and I just sent a current doc showing that both of our names are on the loan. I also sent proof we are on the same phone plan (but not monthly bills), and around a dozen utility bills with both of our names covering the time period from marriage to when we sent our packet. Similarly, on retirement accounts and such, I just sent proof that my spouse is the beneficiary - not statements.

I received electronic notification on 11-5-2021. The packet was mailed on 11-2-2021, so it was very quick. As a side note, I didn't save the text so I referred to the email notification I received that I saved.

I paid by credit card, so a little different than paying by check. The credit card charge showed up on 11-4-2021, so within 48 hours.

We received the NOA within a week, though I don't recall the exact date. It was dated 11-4-2021 though.

  • 1 year later...

It's been awhile, wanted to circle back. I got approved for my I751 extension. Overall timeline was sent off my stuff to USCIS Nov 2022, got the card Mar 2024. I did not use lawyers and meticulously prepped my case, was a big file. Resources on here helped tremendously.

I hope this helps anyone out there, thank you!

Congratulations! Thank you for sharing your experience. I guess you didn't get extension approved, but the I-751 (Removal of conditions) approved? Extension (I-797) comes automatically after filing I-751.
