My wife that came here on a K1 got her AOS approved on 2/14/2020. She has not physically got her 10 year GC yet, although she is approved. When do we apply for her citizenship? Is it 3 months before that date or it has to be after that date... Also please point us in the right direction to the guide that has all that is required. Thanks so much!

Her 90-day window opens 11/16/2022 under the 3-year rule.   File after that date.  There are guides located here on VJ.  She can file either online or via paper.

Just an added suggestion.  If applying online, wait a day or two after your window opens to avoid any IT issues USCIS has with the date system on their computers.

Good Luck!

My wife was thinking that she has to renounce her Filipino citizenship for a short period of time while getting American citizenship.

That is not true is it?

So there is another step after getting American citizenship? She has to apply for dual citizenship AFTER getting American citizenship to get her Filipino passport back…

Looks like it. I don't have experience though as I'm not from Philippines. Maybe worth checking with their consulate?

You can hit the report button on your original post and ask a moderator/organizer to move this to the Philippines regional forum as it appears you question is regionally relevant.

Once your wife takes the US oath of allegiance, she will automatically lose her Filipino citizenship.  There is no extra step to renounce her citizenship.  It's automatic under Philippine law.  Her existing PH passport is also automatically voided at that time.  Thankfully, the process to reacquire her PH citizenship is much simpler than the N-400 process.  No interview and testing involved.  She just needs to mail in her application and supporting documents to the PH consulate in Houston (or any PH consulate of her choice), then wait for her in-person appointment schedule.  Best to book her passport appointment on the same day, so she can apply for her new PH passport right after completing the dual citizenship process.
