Hi all,

First time poster — not sure if it is in the right place or not! My husband has his medical tomorrow in London. He has not been to the GP in years (lived out of country for a while), and has never had antibiotics / prescriptions from his GP. He has his vaccination records, but does not have a copy of his patient care summary from his GP (there isn’t much to summarize). He does, however, have a printed copy of his NHS health record. According to the US Embassy’s website, he only needs a referral from the GP if there is an ongoing medical issue.Has anyone found success at their medical without the patient care summary?

Thank you,

Alexa

There is a UK forum on Visa Journey so your audience would be people going to the same medical clinic, rather than addressing the whole world.

The Patient Care Record is a NHS thing. Some print their own without asking the doctor’s office to print it out for them. Maybe he has what he needs.  It’s too late to worry about it now, so he’ll find out tomorrow if he needs anything else.

The list of what the clinic says to bring is here:

Do you have an update on how it went and if the clinic requested anything further today at the medical?

Yes! Everything went fine at his medical and they accepted all paperwork. They didn’t mention anything about him not having a patient care summary from his GP and accepted the print out of his medical history from the NHS app. I think it’s worth mentioning again that he didn’t have much of a record to be summarized in terms of his health, so for someone who does they may require more paperwork.

Hope this is helpful to someone else!
