Hello...Welcome!

For those who have just filed your I-129f application with USCIS, this thread has been created for your needs and for you to be with others experiencing different aspects of this journey. This is a place to ask questions and to share experiences. All are here to learn together.

Stay patient because this is a long process currently running 14-16 months for your NOA2 or petition approval by USCIS (first stage). Then your petition will be sent to NVC which runs about 4-6 weeks processing (second stage) and finally your interview at the embassy (third stage).  Also, do not compare yourself to others....Some will receive NOA-2 faster than others, some will be stuck at NVC for longer and then finally some will receive interviews fairly quickly at embassy. STAY PATIENT!

Please create the timeline in your profile. Also note that USCIS goes by "Received date" :

Example

I-129 F Sent -  October 2, 2022

I-129 F Received - October 4, 2022 (NOA-1)

I-129 F - Notice Date - October 7, 2022

In this example your NOA-1 should be October 4. This will help you fill out your timeline properly.

I am sure it'll get better. USCIS promised to boil down processing times to 6 months by the end of this fiscal year which just has started.
We filed in May and this forum is great with good people providing scans to give us an impression on where the USCIS is right now.
Good luck for you and everyone here.

Yes, trying to remain hopeful that they can follow through on that promise! I wish you luck too!

It's a bit too early, but I'm sure one is going be created eventually.

There's an occasional YouTube poster who keeps showing 2021-2022 cases at a glance - it might be worth checking their video frame by frame.

Disclaimer: I don't know who it is or how much merit they have. It's just a nice momentary distraction while waiting.

Just beware that there are easily 1,000+ videos on YouTube on this topic, and each one has a point contradicting to all of the others :)

But... the dark side does come with cookies. Before long, you're going to be watching "90 day fiancée" :D

My estimate based on current processing was 19months if my consulate was on it (and I was in the 80%) so seems about right for current trend but I am prepared for it to go longer

I already watch 90D and all spin offs. Hell I broke the news to my mom about the relations as 'you know those idiots on 90D??? I'm now the idiot' 😂

That reminded me of a bad pun I heard earlier today: A boomerang is both the greatest export of Australia and the greatest import at the same time.

I must have joked about mail brides one too many times in my younger years. 😅

P.S. 19 months door-to-door? Mailed out to your special other on your doorstep?

I hope for everyone's sake that they succeed at this.

My notice date was 12 October 2022. By the time this is all over we'll be experts in patience... or insane, I could see it going either way.

I hope so too! But look, we're already in Jan 2023, and for most of us our predicted waiting time is down to 12-months (give or take a few days/weeks). Time goes by so quickly. One day, everything that comes between filing and the visa won't matter, and we'll be all be reunited with our loved ones ❤️
Hang in there October filers!!! We've got this! 😎
