Applying for I-751 + N-400 simultaneously

Hey everyone,

 

I will be applying for I-751 and N-400 simultaneously, and I just noticed that I've made a mistake in regards to my fingerprints cards. For each form, I'm supposed to attach 2 FD cards, so a total of 4, but I've only got 2. I had to drive a long way to have them taken. Would there be an issue if I attach only 2 copies and file both forms?

Usually they reuse fingerprints from their file, you dont need send fingersptint cards, i send my i-751 and they reuse my fingersprint, then i submit my n-400 and they also reuse my fingersprint .so i dont understand why you send fingersprint cards

They both can me mailed together in a big envelope but will be separate packages  and go to separate departments and are processed separately so you need to include for both. However if you don't have time to go for another fingerprints at this time, include both FP cards for i751. You may or may not get an RFE for FP cards for N400. Even if you receive the RFE, you won't lose time since N400 cannot be approved before i751 approval anyway.

OP is likely overseas where they need to the actual fingerprints on a paper taken from uscis approved site.

I guess I'm just being careful, as fingerprints cards are required documentation to file both I-751 and N-400. Thank you for your response!

Thank you. I think that I will mail the I-751, and apply online for N-400, as they need to go to separate facilities, anyway. Fingers crossed about these fingerprints, I did go to my biometrics appointment when I applied for my permanent residence card. I hope they'll reuse my fingerprints. It would be a bummer if I had to go to the United States for that, as I am located in the UK now.

Don’t worry, you wouldn’t have to go to the US for fingerprints. They would ask for you to send fingerprints cards.

Quick question as judging from what you've shared, it sounds like I'm in the same boat.

I thought overseas applications to USCIS had to be sent by mail, are we able to apply online?

 

I'm currently completing both I751 and N400 applications to send simultaneously! (Also in the UK!)

I’m not who you asked, but … you can apply online for the N400, I am just not sure what you have to do about fingerprints in that case. I applied by mail and sent my fingerprints with the petition.

I just mailed my I751 along with fingerprints and did the N400 online. I put a cover letter in my envelope with I751 specifying that I will be filling them simultaneously. My fingerprints were taken on the Lakenheath military base, I don’t know if you’re military or not, but your Embassy should be able to do it.

My husband is military, thankfully I managed to speak to someone this morning and they can help with the fingerprints at Alconbury. 

Any other tips you'd suggest knowing, whole thing drives me crazy!

Thank you! I spoke to USCIS yesterday and they told me I needed to do the N400 application and mail into Chicago lockbox.

I told him how jarring it is to get conflicting information from everywhere - he just said there's so much to sift through makes it difficult!
