That's funny, Would of been funnier if someone would of thrown an rotten egg at him ,he looks goofy getting out of the car and looking around.

I had no clue there was a judgement against him in the USA, I do remember well back when his parents fled to USA back in the 80's.

I’m American (my wife is the one from the Philippines), and was just a kid when the Marcos’ did their (removed).

Yet I still remember it.

So does my brother, who is even younger than I.

And you’re telling me everyone there forgot?

I think what was meant is that the generation who have lived through it, remember it because they actually experienced it.  The generations afterwards have not necessarily forgot, but more likely they were never taught what happened.  The younger generations usually dont see the other perspective until they leave the country.  Yes you do have some people in the younger generation understand what happened, but most dont.  Its why Marcos carried so much of the younger vote (age 18-34 especially).

edited quote, bypassing language filter

The United States is now a country obsessed with the worship of its own ignorance.  Americans are proud of not knowing things.  They have reached a point where ignorance, is an actual virtue.  To reject the advice of experts is to assert autonomy, a way for Americans to insulate their increasingly fragile egos from ever being told they're wrong about anything.  It is a new Declaration of Independence: no longer do we hold these truths to be self-evident, we hold all truths to be self-evident, even the ones that arent true.  All things are knowable and every opinion on any subject is as good as any other.  The fundamental knowledge of the average American is now so low that it has crashed through the floor of "uninformed", passed "misinformed", on the way down, and now plummeting to "aggressively wrong."
