myUSCIS verify your identity

Greetings AOS gurus,

My foreign spouse and I (US citizen) are K1-to-AOS filer and we login to https://my.uscis.gov/ and added our cases with the Online Access Code to track status.

Neither of us could verify our identity on our individual myUSCIS login:

My Account --> Verify Your Identity

For the DOS Case ID, we tried the K1 NVC case number, and all our USCIS receipt numbers (from K1 to the AOS), but none of those work.

We keep getting the following error.

Have any K1-to-AOS filers successfully verified your identity on myUSCIS, and what DOS Case ID did you use to verify successfully?

Thanks in advance for any response.

Looks like you are clicked on the wrong tab somewhere on the uscis page, that's for the people who get immigrant visas at a US embassy or consulate. Make sure you are accessing the right page.

Well, we are former K1 who got the visa from a consulate.

I don't know if there is any advantage to getting the identity verified on my.USCIS.gov?

Forget about K1 and such. If you got an i485 receipt notice along with another notice with the online access code, follow that to create the account. I am saying that section is not applicable to you at all. Somewhere you clicked the wrong section on myuscis. To add a note, this uscis account creation is for the i485 filer.

We did create our myUSCIS accounts before receiving the Online Access Code. Maybe that is why there is a verify your identity?
