That was very specific to my case, some extended Military records. Here's what I prepared:

  1. Appointment Letter – Showing the date and time of the interview

  2. Passport – Original + one copy

  3. Birth Certificate – Original + one copy

  4. Marriage Certificate – Original + one copy

  5. Police Certificates – Original only (copy not required)

  6. Passport-Size Photos – Two (I got mine taken at Walmart)

  7. Employment Letter – No wet signature required

  8. I-140 – Original

  9. Social Security Card – Original

  10. U.S. W-2s and Tax Transcripts – Last 3 years

  11. U.S. Bank Statements – Last 3 months

  12. U.S. Lease Agreement

Note: If you're not currently working in the U.S., you can omit the last 3–4 items.

Thank you for the information. My process is EB1-A so I believe that Employment letter is not required as I’m Self-Petitioner… would you mind share the questions from the Interview?

My petition is NIW so I won’t need #7. Currently in Canada so I won’t need the last 4 items.

Here’s what I remember,

  • Where is your employer based?
  • Where do you intend to move in the United States?
  • How long have you been employed with your current employer?
  • What is your current job title?
  • What are your primary job responsibilities?
  • What is the highest degree you have earned?
  • What were your major courses or areas of study under that degree?
  • Which countries have you visited in the past five years?
  • When was your most recent trip to the United States?
  • What was the duration of your longest stay in the United States?

Hi team,

Would anyone be nice to tell me what are the current wait times for the interview at the Montreal embassy. My EB-2 NIW is still in the process and I am not current yet, but hoping it will all resolve by the end of this year. Last time I was following this forum the wait was ~2 years because of the pandemic backlog. Did the situation improve at all? If I am to submit documentation early next year. My PD date is March 2024 (ROW) and current date is Oct 2023. So I am really hoping I will be current by early 2026. I have an option to move my consulates to my native country if the backlog is still very bad, but that will require some more planning and cost increased. So not looking forward to it.

Would be grateful if anyone can chime in.
P.S Last time I was here this thread had ~70pages, now it stands at 254 :D

It sounds like there is an issue if it’s been this long. I know they say up to 90 days, but most people get them within 6 weeks or so. My daughter’s never turned up, and it turned out to be an issue with her biometrics, she had to go and redo them. But once you get to the 90 days and file the form to say it’s not been received then they’ll let you know what the problem is, it’s frustrating that they don’t do that before though!

Also, just to say I signed in to the online account once and never bothered again. It’s pretty useless! So don’t worry if you can’t get in to it.

Hi, may I ask how long you waited to receive feedback from USCIS after submitting your daughter's request? I submitted an e-request ("Did not receive card by mail") on April 25, 2025 (it's the 91st day after I entered US), and received a confirmation email from USCIS stating: "USCIS will review and process the request. Expect a reply by May 27, 2025."

Today is May 27, but I still haven't received any feedback. I'm not sure what I should do next.

Our greencards took over 170 days.  I did send an inquiry because it was ridiculous.  Then, one of them was statused incorrectly.

The online account isn't useless...it does let you see if the card has been printed and mailed.  It serves for sending traceable inquiries.  It also serves as the place to file future petitions.  It's definitely useless when it comes to estimating timelines.  It is handy, though, if you have access, especially in cases like this where someone has no idea if their card has even been printed.  It's unfortunate that they weren't granted an access code.

Hi, may I ask how you communicated with USCIS after you submitted your inquiry? I never expected the final step to take this long... It has been over 120 days since I crossed the border, but I'm still waiting for my green card.

My online status still shows "Immigrant Visa Fee Payment Received..." I submitted an e-request to USCIS on April 25, 2025, following their 90-day instruction, and received a confirmation stating I would receive a reply by May 27, 2025.

But today is May 27, and I still haven’t received any response.

I think it was pretty much the last day so you might hear later. But have you checked your junk/spam folder?

Thanks a lot for your quick reply. Yes, I have checked my spam folder. Hope I can receive it later today.

I submitted through my myUSCIS account.  I sent an inquiry, creating an auditable communication chain there.

They essentially have until midnight to still say it was the 27th, so just keep that in mind.  And they do sometimes wait until the 11th hour to move on something, so don't be shocked.

Got it. Thank you so much. I was failed to add my case to myUSCIS account previously because I didn't receive the online access code.
I just found a phone number (National Customer Service Center 1-800-375-5283) from the previous email, and I will try to call them if I don't get any feedback after tomorrow.

You can always try Ask Emma too.  If you do call, you may have to escalate from a Tier 1 agent to a Tier 2 agent.

Good Luck!

Thank you! I just realized I had never noticed Emma on the website of USCIS until you told me. I will try it first. Thanks again.

Got my IV EB-2 visa in March 2025. Crossed border on 01 May. SSN received in mail on 14 May. Green card received in mail on 23 May. Spouse SSN still not received. I had a detailed experience about my journey but looks like someone deleted it.
