DV 2023 High case number

I was selected for the DV 2023 lottery. However my case number seems pretty high: 2023EU34XXX. Do you think I will be able to get an interview?

Didn’t it all go current for June this year for prior year DV?

I know it did. But a current number doesn't guarantee an interview.

Current one year doesn’t mean anything for the next.

actually, usually it pretty much does. this year is just messed up because of embassy capacity issues.

 

The question at this stage is impossible to answer anyway as DV2023 hasn’t even begun so there is zero insight into anything relevant to be able to answer it.

Okay thank you all. I've already filled out and sent my DS-260 form. I guess I'll just wait until the DV2023 process starts and see how things go. I hope this capacity issue won't persist for the next year as well.

Well, many people with high numbers don’t want to fill out the DS260 too soon because if they don’t get an interview, they now have immigrant intent on their records and that could interfere  with future non-immigrant visas. That said I’ve never heard of a case where it is actually an issue.

What embassy would you be interviewing at?

just going by what USCIS says

Selected entrants are encouraged to complete the online DS-260 application immediately to schedule an interview appointment at the appropriate U.S. Embassy or Consulate. Please note: The Department of State will not mail notification letters or notify selectees by email.

About not filling out the DS-260 too soon, I would rather take my chances. Because this may not happen come up again. I will be interviewing in Ankara.

Yes i know it says that but it has no impact on scheduling unless you have a low case number and are likely to get an October interview.  Scheduling is done by case number not by date of submission of DS260.
