Hi all,

Just wondered if anyone's done the same thing or has some advice, but when I sent my AOS package I included my marriage certificate (filed back in December and was married back in October), when I received the certificate I checked over birth dates and names etc, but didn't realise that the ceremony date is wrong on it, it states the 5th October whereas we were married in NYC on the 8th October. Those dates will obviously not match the AOS form as I wrote the correct date on that.

Will this be a problem and what should I do?

I am going to send an amendment for the dates on the certificate but should I send this through my online USCIS account or await a RFE if they see the discrepancy? Or just wait to take the amended certificate when I get my interview (not scheduled yet).

Any advice or thoughts would be helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Or wait for an RFE. I see you already had an RFE in December. What was that one for?

Thanks for the advice.

That was an initial evidence for the i-864.

Just following up. We sent off notarized documents and letters proving wedding date was different and received within 1-2 weeks the amended marriage certificate.

I showed the amended one at the AOS interview and it wasn’t even brought up about the different dates.

Thanks again for the great advice. All worked out well.
