I didn't have affidavits either and I received an RFE. I included two affidavits in my response. However, they were focusing more on the lack of a joint checking account in the RFE letter.

Same here, I have submit the joint bank account statement (latest) but they need the statements for all the months from the beginning. I didn't know we had to submit the affidavits.

I did not submit affidavits originally because I read they are not considered strong evidence and that you only need them if your other evidence is lacking. Guess that was wrong information.

That's not wrong information, they're  not strong evidence at all as anyone can lie. Tons of us never sent any for that very reason and were approved just fine.

It's interesting to see how much weight USCIS put on joint checking accounts, especially considering how many couples choose to not have joint accounts (many for good reasons). Even if you send a ton of other good evidence, the joint checking account is still the main thing they like to see. Obviously a lot of people have been approved without it too, but there has also been a lot of RFEs regarding it.

And it's not even enough to just put each other's names on the accounts, they need to be actively used by both spouses too. And you prove that by sending YEARS of statements. Makes you wonder how fun this job is for them, going through massive stacks of bank accounts just to see the activity... 😒

Thanks for the overview. I sent last 6 months of joint account statements and also a month of statements showing when  We  opened the account (back in 2016).Both of ours Salaries get auto deposited into that account, so hopefully they won’t ask last 3 years bank statements. It would be big burden and lots of paper waste if they do ask .

Hopefully you get the approval in next few weeks as I think they might have already looking at your new documents now. How weird it is. In April/early May they moved very fast and now we don’t even know if WAC is working on approvals as I have not seen any approvals since past Mid May.

Yeah, we sent every single statement from when I was added to my husband's account back in 2016 up until I filed for ROC in April of 2019. Definitely a waste of paper (and ink), they should seriously think about having an online filing option for ROC like they do for the N-400. Scanning is both faster and cheaper than printing, and you'd think it would make their jobs easier too if things were already in the system and they don't have to scan every single document people send them. ROC is the fattest petition of them all. 😁

Feeling a bit nervous - I included what I felt was a LOT of evidence, including a huge chunk of bank statements. However because of the issue with my green card (they messed up my name on it and then took over a year to get it back to me), I only have statements showing me as a joint account holder from October of 2018 (so about 7 months of statements since I filed in May). I included a letter that explained the situation and why I'm only on statements from that point, since the bank refused to let me open an account without my amended, physical green card.

Didn't include any affidavits since I heard more things leaning on the side of them not really being very useful, than them being important to include.

Obviously I haven't gotten an RFE yet so there's no point getting my knickers in a knot over it, but the fact that I haven't had an update since my biometrics makes me a little nervous.

WAC has been swinging in every direction, some get approved fairly fast while others wait for the longest time. It's extremely frustrating that there is no consistency so you at least can have some idea of WHEN your case will be adjudicated.

Hopefully everyone of you get approvals before any potential furlough, if that happens things will likely more or less come to a complete stop compared to how things are now.

Are you going to file the N-400 next month no matter if your ROC has been approved or not? The offices are slowly starting to schedule people for interviews, will see how long we have to wait.
