Visa status change from Refused to Administrative Processing

Hi Everyone,

I had given my Visa Interview for L1-B Visa in Frankfurt on March 1, 2022

The VO gave me a Pink 221g Form and said that the decision is pending after which on the website the status showed 'Refused' for 3 weeks.

In the next 2 weeks they asked me and my attorney for some documentation which we immediately provided.

On March 25, 2022 they changed the status to 'Administrative Processing'.

The Status change date again changed to April 4, 2022 and now April 5, 2022 but the case remains in 'Administrative Processing'.

Does anyone have an idea if this has happened and how long will it take for them issue the Visa? I am surprised that they change the dates but no further action has taken place.

Thank You,

Prakash

The date can change when someone simply opens the case file.  Administrative Processing is open-ended.

@JeanneAdil Originally from India but a German Citizen since 2020

this is the reason for the AP

the embassy needs to do extra security checks and India is poor in record keeping so ,  your lawyer  should have informed u the AP can be a long time

u may see several status date changes as the info the US embassy seeks comes and the info is seen or marked as recd (on their side)

What has your experience in this forum indicated when the VO take the passport? Still can take a very long time?

AP can take anywhere from weeks to months. There's no set time, you just have to wait it out. Worst case scenario it can take years.

Hope so too as they have my Passport.

@crazycat

What has your experience in this forum indicated when the VO take the passport? Still can take a very long time?

one of the VJ members In Morocco gave his passport to embassy and asked to do (post is about 2 years old or my mind is off)

he was a permanent resident of Morocco but from another country in Africa

embassy had the passport almost 2 years when he posted and he wanted it to travel

so,  we have seen this before

and your lawyer is German ???

not an American immigration lawyer?

please keep us posted as this type of AP is important here for others that follow in your footsteps and for the VJ community to give out the best possible answers

thank u

@Prakash R

How did you submit the documents to the Frankfurt consulate?

My wife also got selected for administrative processing (born in Russia, but a German citizen since 2020). The consular officer told us to email them to FrankfurtVisaInquiries@state.gov.

Did you also email them to that email address? Did you have to upload them to CEAC as well?

Hi,

My interview date was on 7 June,2022, In Lusaka, Zambia. The visa officer didn't tell me anything. However, they send an email asking couple of questions and i did respond. They put me Administrative Processing. It has been 1 months & half and no update yet.

It says most Administrative Processing is solved within 60 days.

Does anyone has an idea or has happened to them? And how long it will take Administrative processing to be completed?
