Not yet a legal resident of US, want my parents to visit

Hi,

I am married to an US citizen and I applied for a Green Card last year, however is still pending. I would like to have my parents visiting me this year (B1 Visa) but my parents have difficulties answering this question on the DS160 form for their application.

they are visiting a relative (me) but:

- I am not an US Citizen

- I am not a LPR yet since I haven’t actually received my green card

- I am not nonimmigrant

so the only option will be “Other/I don’t know” but Is this not gonna affect my parents application for the tourist visa?

any advice will be appreciated. How can I explain my situation in the DS 160 Form ? Can they still come and visit me even though I don’t have a green card yet?

You select “other” , and if the form prompts for an explanation write “noncitizen with pending adjustment of status”

They apply for a tourist visa just anyone else, on their own merits.  Whether they get one or not is up to the officer at the embassy/consulate where they apply.  They will need to show strong ties to their home country to increase the probability of approval.  Some countries are more difficult than others, so there's that factor as well.  Having a son or daughter in the US will be considered too.
