bad idea.

Submit each document as NVC lists them

Make sure your documents are fully filled out, signed and include all pages (even blank ones in the AoS)

Make sure the PDF files are upright (not sideway or upside-down)

The system wouldn't accept any file that is more than 2MB

11/17/2016: Got engaged
11/28/2016: I-130 sent to Chicago IL lock box
01/12/2016: NOA1

I'm about to file the paperwork for my wife at NVC

My dad is the joint sponsor.

We will file before April 15 so technically the most recent tax year is still 2020.

Question: will NVC send me a checklist for updated tax info when they review our paperwork in ~2-3 months time (by then the 2021 will be the most recent) or will my wife just be required to bring it with her to the interview?

Alternatively, my dad will probably file an extension. He retired in 2021 and has letters of declaration for his retirement income that is more than enough to qualify as a financial sponsor.

Unfortunately we are at a time of the year in which they can send a RFE for 2021 taxes, even though they are not due for another 20 days or so. And a RFE adds time. Ask him to file early and you'll be golden. I wouldn't risk it.

checklist?

The correct term you're looking for is RFE (request for evidence)

Might want to post this question in the CR1 forum

Some countries they will require a new I 864 and 2021 tax transcripts before they dq them and send to embassy

but others say take the new I 864 with tax trancsripts to interview

U will need 2021 for both u and joint sponsor  by interview time (as your interview will not happen before the 18th of April)  or case will go into AP while the CO waits for them
