Should I request transfer?

Hello everyone, I'm new here.

I originally started off in the Nebraska Service Center and was silently transferred to California (as in I did not receive a notice that I was transferred) Obviously I'm in shock looking up the processing times out of California😰.  I contacted live support and they told me that I could write a letter to the processing center that I want to be transferred to to try and help speed things up. Have any of y'all done this? How did you do it? Who should it be addressed to? I've been in "Active Review" for 141 days, and I know that's not all that long, but I'm also not trying to wait 28+ months when we have a very simple straightforward legitimate case.

i've been waiting for 415 days now since it's " case is being actively reviewed by uscis" in potomac. obviously they didnt do anything about my case at all beside cashed my check on the same day when the status change. interested to know if we can write a letter? i supposed we could but can it be approved ? i almost never know people do that / even got approved

uscis almost never sent notice when they transferred a case

you can try your local congressman to inquire the case

As far as I understand, you cannot change your service center. Otherwise, everyone would request to transfer their case to the quickest center. I have read other reports of Emma agents suggest writing a letter, however, I haven't seen that it actually works. If you have a strong and compelling humanitarian reason, you can request an expedite your petition at the I-130 stage, but I think they rarely grant it. More information on how to expedite a petition can be found here How to Make an Expedite Request | USCIS.

You cannot change your processing center.  USCIS routinely transfers case to balance their workload......We were transferred, and it didn't delay our case at all.  Just try to stay busy and avoid excessive worry.

I was told the same thing and my case is in California and they told me to write a letter. I just mailed it last week and addressed it to whom it may concern and expressed why i wanted it transferred
