Consulate Review: Dominican Republic
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description

Embassy Review : Overall the interview went very smoothly. Pre-consul only asked my husband a few questions, “if we had kids together, how long we had been married, if he had ever been outside the country” after that we went to wait on our number to be called by the consular officer. Once called he was very nice and asked us a lot of questions “how did we meet, when did we get married, who was at our wedding, how many times had I came to visit, how did I learn Spanish, asked for our photo evidence, asked me what my husbands parents names were” then be said congratulations your visa is approved. Enjoy the United States! 🥳🥳🥰🥰
Rating : Very Good

So happy for the two of you!! Take time to celebrate this big victory as NVC can be a challenge also. However, it's certainly not as bad as what you've just been through.

Hello! May I ask you after your I -130 approval, when NVC sent you a welcome letter? My I -130 was approved last Tuesday, and we didn't receive anything fro NVC yet. Is it normal?
Ctavarez90 on 2022-11-04 said:
Hey! I got my welcome letter about 3 days after getting approved. Some people say it takes a few weeks. Wish I could be more help.

How many weeks they give you DQ at NVC?
Ctavarez90 on 2022-12-11 said:
I got DQ on Oct 19. But I hear they are taking about 40 days now to DQ people so a lot faster than when I was waiting. It took me 57 days

May I ask what documents did you bring to your Embassy interview?
Ctavarez90 on 2023-05-05 said:
Thanks! Everything we uploaded to the CEAC portal is what we took to the interview. You also need to take your passport if you are the petitioner

Hi did they let you in with your spouse, were you in the interview or was it just him inly

They let me in. I went through the whole thing with him. You just need to make sure that you bring your passport with you as well if you are going through as well

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
