2015-10-05: NVC assigned Case number, Invoice ID & Beneficiary ID

2016-06-30: DS-261 completed, AOS Fee Paid, WL received

2016-07-05: Received IV invoice, IV Fee Paid

2016-07-06: DS-260 Submitted

2016-07-07: AOS and IV Package mailed

2016-07-08: NVC Scan

2016-08-08: Case Complete

2017-06-30: Interview, approved

2017-07-04: Visa in hand

2017-08-01: Entry to US

You did so, but the beneficiary passport is not a required document when filing the petition.  The beneficiary is not even required to HAVE a passport at that stage and many don't.  Don't confuse what you did, with what is required.

 

A....REASON...for submitting copies of a page or two of the beneficiary's passport is if some of the couple's time together was in a third country.  Then copies of entry and exit stamps showing each with in the third country, is submitted as relationship evidence.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

Well...we did. Did it through a lawyer who works with immigration and with the fickly country we dealing with. But its ok. It doesnt bother me.

I get it, but "what we did" and "what is required" do not mean the same thing.  The country you re dealing with is the USA.  Perhaps the lawyer wanted all documents up front, but the beneficiary's passport is not needed until the NVC stage.  This question is about filing the I-130 initially.  The correct answer is not only that it is not needed, but the beneficiary need not have a passport at all, at this stage.
