Affadavit of Support help!

Hi everyone! Just started to look at the form I-134 Affadavit of Support that I will send to my fiance for the K1 interview. A few questions I was hoping you could help me with!

1. I will not have any problems meeting the income requirements, but I am a new teacher and have just started working full-time in August. Before that, I worked part-time while I went to school. Do you think this could potentially pose a problem at the interview - that I haven't been working too long? My income tax returns will only be those I filed while going to school. I do have some money in savings and stocks as well. My dad could co-sponsor but he is paranoid about putting all his info out there...

In this case I would ignore the income tax requirement and instead get a letter from your employer stating your starting date, your terms of employment, and your yearly salary.

2. Do I need to send the originals, regular photocopies, or notarized copies of the statements from employer/bank, tax returns, and pay stubs?

The letter from your employer is not noterized, its sometimes hard to get them to give you the letter alone never mind getting them to goto a notery to get it noterized. Send the original of the letter, I had them give me 3 copies, one for my record, one for Charry and one for the Gov't. Tax return would actually be a photocopy, for obvious reasons.. You should be keeping 7 years worth of your returns anyway so this should be simple enough.. However, another option is a Tax Transcript. These are free and can be requested from the IRS for up to 3 years worth of history.

Nowhere in the evidence for the I-134 does it say that Paystubs are acceptable.

3. Finally, just checking that it is ok to put "N/A" in the question that asks if I plan to make specific contributions to the immigrant? (I saw this on the example VJ form)

With the Gov'ts new stance on healthcare I think N/A is stupid to put here but I have heard others say it is fine too..

What I did was the following:

I intend to provide room and board, and pay for any medical expenses for <Full name of beneficiary> until such time as we are married. After marriage she will no longer be a boarder and will be included on my health insurance.

Thanks for all your help!

Welcome

My fiance (USC) sent pictures to prove that we met each other. However, now, I found a huge problem. He sent 6 pictures. and once of the pictures has a wrong date. He put 07/10/2006. But, I returned to Japan on 07/08/2006. It does not make any sense. I guess he was remembering the night before we were together and it was 07/07/2006. but he put a wrong date. After he prepared entire packages, he got copies of my passport. I am really freaking out because USCIS might take this as dishonesty. I am asking him to call USCIS and tell them, But he kept telling me the line was busy and he said just wait RFE. Ahhhh Pls help me. What should I do?

Don't worry about it. It's pretty easy to be confused with the long time change. I didn't know if I should date my own pics on US time or local time while in China. If you do get a RFE it will probably be for missing information or an incorrect entry on an application. If you get a RFE for the date being off 1 or 2 days I would be amazed.

Thank you Bill Y Bella! That's great news!

Nothing with our case either, no touches it seems like most of the recent (past few days) approvals have come out of the Vermont center. I hope CSC gets back on track soon.

Patiently waiting for approval :)

I had SUCH a lovely surprise last night :) :) :)

I was really down, and had waited up really late for my fiancé to finish work, and while we were talking on the phone I was so depressed about the whole thing - the process, the move, all the changes - just feeling so bad

well, my fiancé says that he has 'a secret' (which he quickly follows up with 'not anything bad or anything' ) and it's this:

he has been secretly colluding with my cousin, with whom I'm spending Christmas and New Year, and she has bought him a plane ticket as an early wedding present, so that he can arrive in Paris a few hours before we do (a couple of days after Christmas), and when we get off the Eurostar in the Gare Du Nord he'll be there waiting, and we'll have five days together in Paris over New Year :)

my mood changed after THAT, I can tell you

*so happy and excited*

we'd pretty much resigned ourselves to not seeing each other til we meet in Aus, which is likely to be April, the way things are going... now that wait is pretty much split in half :)

how lovely is my cousin, hey? :)

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

I just called the Department of State and found out that Packet 3 was sent out to me yesterday. Wooooo!!

Before we knew of the delays this year I had originally wanted to move to the US on 12th January and get married on 30th January and if I'm really lucky I may still do that. I'm not holding my breath though.

Good luck to everyone else still waiting.
