CR1 should now be IR1

Hey all quick question. We've recently passed our two years of marriage. Still waiting for the interview. Will it automatically update to IR1 on the NVC website or is there something I need to do? Or nothing needs to happen and they'll just see the dates during interview. Thanks in advance for any insight!

You should receive a 10 Green Card regardless of whether your visa says "CR-1" or "IR-1".  You can mention it at the interview and at POE, if you want.

The embassy should mark his visa as IR1

it will be under IV category on right hand side of the visa itself/  check this and all other info on the visa when its issued 

also the stamp at POE had IR1 hand written on ours

The Green Card expiration date will be determined based your records at USCIS when it is processed.  It matters not what CBP writes in the passport as the endorsement stamp will serve as a temporary Green Card for one year (or until the plastic one arrives).

It updates automatically in CEAC. You don't have to do anything.

If you log into CEAC, your visa class will update to IR1 if not immediately, a couple days after your 2 year anniversary.
