Elective monarchy?  Seems wrong.  Anyway, I will wait until after Old Joe reads his malaise speech off the teleprompter.  I hear he will be using his whisper voice and recommend those un-vaxx-ed to make peace with their God.

 

I do still wonder why our elite leaders and very smart bureaucrats that claim to be science completely ignore natural immunity.  Most other enlightened countries recognize this type of immunity.

This is where the Congress truly messed up when they passed a law limiting the size of the House of Representatives.

 

The legislature must also be large enough to be truly representative of the people. Madison writes in Federalist 10 that “the representatives must be raised to a certain number in order to guard against the cabals of a few.” He adds that “the smaller the number of individuals composing a majority . . . the more easily will they concert and execute their plans of oppression.” Again, the most extreme case would be to rely upon just one man. Madison writes, “A rage for . . . an abolition of debts, for an equal division of property, or for any other improper or wicked project, will be less apt to pervade the whole body of the Union than a particular member of it.”

Possibly, but it would also dilute the power of the various political factions and provide for better direct representation.  The US is 2nd only to India as to the average ratio of people directly represented by each House member at around 740k per House member.

Given that, it's surprising that Congressmen are as responsive to their constituents as they are.

They may be responsive through their office, but do they really represent the needs of all their constituents, or more geared toward special interests.

Amazing how folks and their families can get rich off of a political office.  No wonder so many people are upset at the events of January 6th, yet could not care less about riots and destruction elsewhere.

These Congressmen and Senators apparently set up "foundations" for themselves.  They might also be able to divert unused campaign funds to themselves personally.
