Good evening:

 

My parents received their green cards in January 2016. They traveled back to my home country to finish all the stuff they needed to do before moving permanently back here, and a 2-3 months trip turned into 7 months trip. They made the permanent move here in September 2016 and been living there since. They had 3 weeks trips overseas here once a year. They are wanting to apply for citizenship, so the question is will the 7 months trip cause any issues?

They can file N-400 5 years from when they returned from the 7 month trip less 180 days.
