I'm DQ May 2020. Case still at NVC. My wife wrote NVC for my case to be expedited. NVC forwarded the request to Accra Embassy and they said my case cannot be expedited and my passport will expire Feb 2022. I want to ask if my passport expiration would be an issue?

Attached is the email my wife got from NVC

passport needs to be current

think of this

the visa is stamped on the passport and when entering US they stamp it with I 551 to allow work and travel

even if u came now,  u would have to send that passport back to renew and be without all the proofs needed for work and travel

I understand. I want to renew my passport ahead. Would there be an issue presenting a new passport other than the one already on their database?

No, no issue. Get the new passport and bring both the old and new one to your interview.  You are certainly not the first that has had to update a passport during this arduous process.
