My parents entered the U.S. with immigrant visa,  in October, what is the current timeline from the date entered to receive your permanent resident card? Is there a way to check status?

Timeline

Usually within 30 days.

Sometimes longer. Sometimes never, as in USCIS (the U stands for Useless) or USPS (ditto) botches this and the LPR has to use alternate I-551s. Set up usps informed delivery so that you are waiting at your mail box the day the cards are due to arrive.

Your parents’ immigration visas were endorsed upon entry and are alternate I-551s that expire one year from the date of entry.  They can be used to get an SSN, to work, to get state ID, etc.

Use the receipt number from the immigrant fee payment receipt to track the status here

https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

Normally 1-2 months, if not received by 3 months you can file an enquiry for outside normal processing time.
