Well after many years (2) the adoption process is complete here in the Philippines, now we are here picking up our daughter to head back to the states, the DSWD and ICAB here in the Philippines we great at what they do, we now will return to the states and finish up the adoption process, if anyone has questions on the process or if you live in north or south carolina i can refer you to the agency we used in the states, and you will need an accredited stateside agency in the states.

are you in the states? and is the father of the kids still alive? and who has legal custody of the 3 kids at this point? you first step will be to get an states side adoption agency to start your application, you must also get in touch with DSWD they and icad will determine if the kids are eligible for adoption, this process is long and covid has push it back a little but the train does keep rolling forward just a little slower, you will need to start collecting things such a their BC from psa, you wife knows about that part, mother death cert, and dswd will handle the fathers part as far as him giving up his rights, im just giving you a very small amount of what you need to do if they are cleared for adoption cause there are online classes you and your spouse need to take i can get into details with you if you like just email me so we can stay in contact and i can flood you with alot more details, magicj23@yahoo.com

Do you mind sharing how much you spent? And did they require you to go to the Philippines to live with them in a certain time?

The cost can vary but we personally spent about 25k, and no we didnt have to spend two years there, thats only for in country domestic, ours was an international adoption which if your stateside thats what you will be doing, now adopting 3 kids will for sure cost alot more but if you have the resources then go for it you can also apply for grants which in your case will be a very good option and cut your out of pocket cost down alot, also if your military you get a big discount also, send me your email i will send you a copy of the cost and fees for philippine adoption

Interesting, I always thought you had to spend 2 years in the presence of the child if you were going to adopt. I didn't know international made a difference. Thanks for sharing
