I apologize in advance if there is a thread about this already. There's just so many threads, that I'm wanting to make sure that I don't get confused or read old info.

1. I filed our I-130 on 8/3/21 & received the receipt, which states at the bottom, the Potomac Center. Does this mean that this is where my petition will be processed at? I sure hope not, because they are the top 3, with the longest processing time.

2. Also, I got an email today, that there has been some action taken on my case. But when I go Into my account, it only shows the receipt document that I got yesterday morning. Is it safe to say that the email was just delayed about the receipt notification?

Thank you all in advance.

The only way to really be sure is to call them and ask where it is. Or you can use the chat on their website. You have to type "Talk to a live agent" then click on "Technical difficulties". That will get a live person to chat with you.

Moved from K1 Case Filing and Progress Reports to IR1/CR2 Case Filing and Progress Reports. This is about spousal visa, not fiancé.

Is this something that you are suggesting that I look into to try to get my husband here sooner, during the whole process?

I’m an organizer on the forum and I move threads where they belong. I wasn’t suggesting anything and besides, you’re not eligible for fiancé visa as you’re already married.

It just means that's the service center where your petition was first assigned.  As mentioned above, the only way to find out for sure where your petition is being processed, is to contact USCIS directly.  But it won't matter much what they tell you because USCIS can transfer cases to another service center whenever they need to, and you have no control over where yours will actually end up.

Our NOA1 receipt was accurate. California was on the NOA1 and that's where the agents have all said as well...

I did a live chat with a rep, and  they said it was sent to Texas. But it looks like  all but Nebraska, are taking 9 months or more to just approve the I-130 (according to the USCIS processing table). Is that correct,???

It really depends on the case. Those are estimates, but every case is different. A friend of mine petitioned for his wife (Potomac) and it took 10 months for the i130. A couple of people here got approved from California in 3-4 months, so it's really all over the place. Hard to tell how long it takes honestly.
