Hello.

I couldn’t find a clear answer below.  So here goes my question in short.  I want my sister to file joint sponsor but I don’t want to live with here.  We want to live wife my brother.  However, my brother can’t joint sponsor for personal reasons.  Is this possible?  One more question.  Let’s say we moved with my sister and she sponsors us, then how long do we have to live with her before moving?  Either to our own place or with a relative?   Thanks

Yes, if your sister qualifies she can be your joint sponsor.  It is not relevant whether you EVER live with her or, if you do, for how long.  You will provide your own I-864 and so will your sister.  She is acting as joint sponsor, not as household member.  If she is married, her spouse should provide an I-864a as her household member.

Actually one more question regarding my previous question and your response.   My sister will co-sponsor us and her husband will fill in the i-864A.  However we will be living with my brother.  Does my brother need to file any form for us because we’re moving into his rented house?

thanks again

No.  Note: Your sister will be joint sponsor, not "co-sponsor".

Sorry another follow up question on this quote.  Can I use my foreign income (will reported and filed in my usa taxes soon) as a joint sponsorship with my sister?  Since I will no longer be working after migrating back to the States, I was just wondering if they will allow me to use my foreign income for joint sponsorship.  Thanks again.

No.  Income may only be used to qualify for sponsorship if it will continue from the same source after moving to the US.  Since you will not be working after moving, your current foreign income does not meet that requirement and cannot be used for the I-864.

Thanks.  Since my my foreign income is invalid does that mean my sister and brother-in-law should each fill out i-864A.  Or My sister fills out i-864 and brother-in-law i-864A?  Thanks again

Sister fills out i-864 and brother-in-law i-864A, or reverse that so the one with the greater income is the joint sponsor.  You'll do your own I-864 showing zero income.

Hello.  It’s been awhile.  I appreciate all your help.  Question:  my sister is is going to joint sponsor with me for my immigrant spouse.  Her husband needs to also submit the i-864A.  However, the both filed taxes jointly.   What do I submit for him?  Do I submit the same tax returns from my sister and her husband or does need something different?  Thanks again

Same tax returns.  Same income number in the tax section.  Different income numbers in the current income section.
