Did you end up being able to get a hold of someone on the phone? If not, I would recommend drafting a letter with your case number, explaining the situation and providing a copy of something that provides the correct spelling of your name.

Hi there! I just checked my online banking and it looks like USCIS has processed the credit card transaction today or late yesterday. I am not sure if they work on Saturdays. Il keep this thread posted and also update the spreadsheet. Btw do you know if USCIS processes case depending on the expiration date of the GC or sort of like first come first serve basis.

I wanted to share this thread here just for our knowledge. At first glance it seems like good news but everyone suggested to show up anyway, so keep that in the back of your mind even though we are just starting the journey.

Good morning! USCIS processes cases on a first come first serve basis. Once they receive your case, it goes into a "pile" order by received date with the cases and they work from the top to the bottom of the pile.

Question 1:  I am sending in a Cashier's Check,  what do you put in the memo section of a check?  A# or just Payment for I-751
Question 2: Can someone share an example of their cover letter,  I don't seem know how much is enough evidence my stack sits at nearly 3 inches already.

1 The memo is for your own information. I do not think we entered anything on ours. We used a personal check. 

2. Our package weighed 13 lbs. Others' have weighed up to 27lbs. Make sure to send evidence since the date of the marriage. That is very important. There will be overlap, of course, between what you sent for AOS and what you are sending now. That is fine. Here is a nice example of Cover letter/Table of Contents. Scroll down to the second post.

@AlmostDone The I-751 instructions state they require evidence since the date you got married. Remember, the I-751 gets adjudicated at a Service Center. They do not have the evidence you sent for AOS.

 

Though, it may feel redundant to send them items you already sent for AOS. And that is fine. They want to see evidence since the date of the marriage - month by month. Do not skip months, especially with bank accounts. They want to see the transactions. 

 

Even if some bills do not have both names on them, you can state and highlight the fact that you are paying for example for the gas bill out of your personal account and your spouse pays for electricity and internet out of their personal account. A joint account is preferred but it is OK if you do not have one, as long as you explain how you two manage your payments. 

 

USPS informed delivery emails/images is good evidence of receiving mail at the same address, by the way.

This is a new one for me, as I have had to do biometrics for both my prior filings.... does this mean biometrics waived for this filing?

 

My timeline thus far:

 

06/16/2021: I-751 package mailed (FedEx)

06/18/2021: FedEx delivered package

06/22/2021: $680 check was deposited

06/23/2021: Received text message with receipt notice # (EAC)

06/26/2021: I-797 receipt/extension notice arrived in mailbox

 

07/10/2021:  Biometrics waiver letter arrived in the mail.  

 

I was honestly surprised to find a USCIS letter in my mailbox earlier this afternoon containing the notice saying there is no need for biometrics appointment since they are able to reuse previously captured fingerprints. As of now, I still haven't received a text notification, and the online case status  remains changed.

I haven’t received anything. They told me to wait 60 days from when it was delivered but my green card expires
