For question 38.d in Part 2 it asks about the expiration date on the I-94 form. My girlfriend was in the US 2 years ago and her I-94 says D/S on the expiration. Should I write D/S to answer the question?

https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-129finstr.pdf
The form suggestion actually says either the date on the I-94, which hers is D/S so there is none, or other records such as passport stamps, etc.

I would definitely read through this entire document.  I actually ended up burning a digital hole in that suggestion PDF on the USCIS site and did not discover VJ until after I submitted the I-129F and supporting documents.

The form for K1 is I-129F.

On said form, part 2, items 38a to 38h, it states that you fill those fields just if your beneficiary is currently in the United States.

Your fiancee is not in the US now, therefore, you leave those fields blank.

this is correct as question 38 states

if your beneficary is currently in the US fill out 39a thru 38 h

past posts indicate you ask about I 134 and income.   this form is not filled out until the you need it for embassy interview (at least a year away)

read the guides above to know the process and get familiar with when documents are submitted for each phase

when you have to show income,  it will be for current wages

example:

before April 15, 2022,  2020 IRS showing 2020 income (and current income by letter from employer with start dates and salary and most recent pay stub as it shows year to date pay)

after April 15, 2022 ,  2021 IRS tax transcripts

don't get ahead of the process as it will confuse you

read and learn the proper steps

AND ALWAYS keep copy of what you submit and any notification and/or email from UCSIS and NVC /  there will be 2 different case #'s and dates you need to know to follow progress and later to answer questions asked on other forms for immigration after u marry
