@Kitta&Owen :  That genius idea of @USC4SPOUSE is you new Plan C. He should try to get an ESTA. If he gets one, he gets to board. If he doesn't get one because it says he is an LPR, he can show that to Spiritless Airlines and see if that works to let him board.

Congrats.  Do a chargeback against  Spiritless Airlines for the rest of your ticket value.     As an executive platinum on AA I am disappointed their ground crew in Cancun is so under educated.

Get an ESTA. Sometimes they are instant.

 

When he lands in the USA, he should present his passport and identify himself as a green card holder.

 

Note to self: never ever fly Spirit Airlines. 

 

Plan C : fly American Airlines home.

 

Plan D is fly to Juarez now. Walk into El Paso. Then do a credit card charge back on your Spirit Airlines ticket. Then fly from ELP to DFW on American Airlines. 

 

It is a waste of time to go to the embassy. The airline wants him to get a Lincoln Boarding Foil. The embassy isn't going to give him one because he had a valid I-551. And those cost hundreds of dollars anyway. Spend your money on a different plane ticket to DFW, either through Juarez / ELP or non stop to DFW.

 

 

 

 

You had me at "just go to another airline".

 

Spirit. Good lord.

We are at the American Airlines now and they are giving us the same issue

It's worth a shot! And we will all know if the ESTA system recognizes LPRs or not. 🤓

@Kitta&Owen try calling Spirit Airlines customer service and escalate the call. 

This is unbelievable. It should not be happening.

August 7, 2022: Wife filed N-400 Online under 5 year rule.

November 10, 2022: Received "Interview is scheduled" letter.

December 12, 2022:  Received email from Dallas office informing me (spouse) to be there for combo interview.

December 14, 2022: Combo Interview for I-751 and N-400 Conducted.

January 26, 2023: Wife's Oath Ceremony completed at the Plano Event Center, Plano, Texas!!!😁

February 6, 2023: Wife's Passport Application submitted in Dallas, Texas.

March 21, 2023:   Wife's Passport Delivered!!!!

May 15, 2023 (about):  Naturalization Certificate returned from Passport agency!!

 

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..
