Argg! It seems like 75% of our time together is arguing about credit card debt, mine of course, and how to pay it off the quickest.

Anton wants to dump huge loads of money onto the cards that are the highest % interest. My idea is to pay an amount over the min. amout owed, so I still have $ in my bank account in case of emergency and I still have my cards paid off each month.

Anybody else get into arguements about $...

It's Driving me crazy!!!!

I am here to help, even if it's just to offer my shoulder to cry or vent on... We are all in this together.!

My answers are based on personal experience, not fact.

oh yes, the money. Since i can't work yet I have to ask my hubbie for every cent I spend. Hate it. He doesn't have to know every little thing I buy.

I totally understand. I hate having to ask permission for every little thing. It's especially hard since his birthday is coming up and me with none of my own money to buy him anything.

We've got the same problem -- 2 credit cards and my 2 student loans. We've decided on a hybrid of your plan: we looked at the 4 debts, and decided in which order we would pay it off. The one at the top of the list (the credit card with the highest interest rate) gets minimum + a chunk, the rest get minimum payments. Once the first one is paid off, we're going to take that payment, and roll it over to the next one on the list, and so on. That way, everything is paid on time, and we still have a bit in savings for a cushion. maybe that would work for you? :)

We used to argue a bit about Jerry making sure he kept me in the loop about our monthly budget and how we are doing -- he was so used to doing it for himself, that he would forget. Now, we very rarely argue about money, now that we have a plan worked out. :)

Urgh. Money and how to spend it are definitely sources of discussion. We don't argue-okay, HE doesn't argue, I'm the one who gets all bent out of shape-as much as I stress and he tries to calm me down. Usually it winds up being somewhere in the middle-because it wasn't as bad as I had perceived it and he's now been put on notice we need money to pay for whatever.

When Luis is here and we´re on a trip somewhere he always gives me his money ´cus he says I´m the local and I know how to deal with it better.

But when I went to Puerto Rico he also gave me his money saying I was more careful with carrying it, and that I could use it if I needed for anything.

I´m not sure how it will be when I get there and while I´m not working.

Money and sleep patterns.

Not really feeling strong enough to go into it right now.

::hugs:: (L)

Mostly money here also, or things that boil down to that anyway. We don't have any debts to pay. Actually, I've been bugging him about maybe buying some furniture on credit so I can get my rating up somehow. And he says he doesn't want to go down that road, which is quite understandable but gawd, how am I supposed to get my credit rating up? o.O

Oh and he's a gamer, just got a copy of another one from a friend at work. Blech. But I'll give him a break this time, he just finished reading the Lord of the Rings books (again) and started on the Silmarillion (again).

A few months ago we got some furniture on credit. 0% interest for 15 months or something. My wife wanted me to spread the payments across 15 months, evenly. Makes sound financial sense. But debt .... bothers me. So one day I just sent in a check for the full amount. If I didn't tell my wife, she wouldn't even have noticed since the amount really doesn't hurt us. Point being, I don't like keeping debt that I don't need to keep. If I can afford to pay it all off, I will. She doesn't seem to mind debt as much and likes the thought of cash in the bank.

In the near future, we will be buying her a car. I want to put down about 15k, she wants me to borrow as much as they're willing to lend on a 60 month plan. Again, she wants cash in the bank and I want less debt.

I wouldn't call these "arguments", though.

We "argue" about other things. Like chores. Blech.

Yes I have to agree with everybody!!

Me and my husband argue about every cent spent, mostly I argue and he tells me everything is under control.

but having every month just couple hundred $ to spend is not really under control.

Therefor I started a savings account for him. Unfortunately we can't have joint accounts yet because i am not able to change my name!

I have now access to his online bank account therefor I tell him what not to spend anymore!!

In the beginning he gave me Money every month but now He just comes with me if I have to go to the grocery store!!

Also we are having are second and third wedding coming up therefor we need money as well! It is ridiculuos what a wedding cost.

In Switzerland I never had dept or trouble with money, I had a nice live and a job. Here in america every body has debt and is Paying off everything.

We have furniture since one year that is not payed of yet! I wish I could have job and just change everything and pay off the cars and furniture and all the creditcards!!

But is it really my job to pay for his past mistakes??

HAHA. Sounds like me and my wife :) She thinks when I order out, we turn poor overnight. I tell her, relax... it's all under control! She also thinks we need to downgrade our cable plan, talk about blasphemy.
