Hi everyone, just coming on here to ask if anyone has had a similar timeline to me and if any of you have had to go for an interview to be approved to have the conditions removed from your green card. I’m from Canada and everything so far has gone pretty smooth. I know a lot of people who had their interviews waived, however, I received a letter in the mail last week requiring me to go to Syracuse NY (2.5 hours away) for the interview. My husband and I have a baby which they have proof of but anyway I’m just curious if anyone else had to have an interview and what I should be expecting. Thank you 🧡🧡

I’m a little nervous although I know I have no reason to be 😔. I just though since I included everything possible for proof when filing that and interview would be waived....oh well🤷🏼‍♀️

You were never interviewed for the AOS and that's why you get one for your ROC. As for the interview, bring the originals of stuff you included in your ROC submission. Also, bring updated documents e.g. if you submitted 2018 and 2019 tax transcripts then bring 2020 tax transcript if it's available, bank statements that came after ROC filing, some new pictures etc. Updated documents are more for a just-in-case instance if they ask for them at the interview.

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

My wife and I are expecting an interview since she has never been interviewed by USCIS ( She entered via a CR-1).   We filed her I-751 in Mar 2019.  The case has been "Ready to be scheduled for an interview" since May 2019.

IT Professional- Retired- Web Site Design, Hardware Maintenance, Compound Pharmacy Software Trainer, On-site go live support, Database Manager, App Designer.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Yes, I have already written to my congressman suggesting to reverse the policy and reinstating interview waivers to help alleviate the backlog.

I saw you mentioned "Canada" and "baby", so I wanted just to add a little encouragement.  My hubby (Canadian) and I had our change of status (485) interview in Chicago and had to bring our then 2 year old son with us to the interview.  It actually helped make the interview feel a little less "formal" as the lady we spoke with was charmed by our son.  :)

We brought a big binder with us with extra info and I don't think she even looked at it.  She had all the stuff we had previously submitted.  Still recommend you bring one with you though, just in case.  Never hurts to be prepared!

I had the ROC interview as I did not have an AOS one.

Bring all your stuff (new and old). I found the whole thing to pretty easy, it was more a conversation than a real interview. We did not have co-mingling finances, or photos and it was all fine (we still don't have those). They can see pretty quickly if you are a real couple or not.

Quick question.... all of our bank Statements are paperless, so we print them out. Should I reprint all the old statements (that I already submitted for I-752) or should I just bring the new ones?
