Will my symbolic ceremony affect K1 application in any way?

I know Ive seen a website selling a variety of products online geared towards long distance couples (but I cant remember where). One item they had was a set of rings or bracelets with some kind of tech aspect where when one person touches their ring the others one will vibrate or light up. Or another product that was something like a set of night lights with the same concept. If you search google for 'long distance couple gifts' a variety of products should come up at various price points. Perhaps invest some of the money you would have used for this ceremony into something like that.

US gov have no control over marriage.

Immigration has rules that must be followed.  If trying to immigrate as a fiance, then people must remain unmarried.  Otherwise they will not be "fiance's".

People can decide to marry and when and how they want.  To immigrate, they would then file for a spouse visa after marriage.

The US fed gov has no say or jurisdiction regarding foreign governments that do not permit same sex marriage.

The OP has a choice to continue with the K1 or attempt to get a tourist visa to go to the US, get married, return to Jamaica and start over with a CR1.

All good points. What I meant was only that it's a shame there's so much red tape, making people who are otherwise ready to marry reticent for these-and-those legal reasons. I guess that's what borders are for, though. :)

It is a ridiculous shame that federal governments have so much control over how, who and when foreigners marry!

Federal government absolutely does not have any control over who/how/when anyone marries.  The control is over the conditions of certain visas.
