I have paid my Greencard Fee on the 10th.

The IOE number you received in your e-mail on the 10th is entered in the following site to check status: https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

current wait time for receiving the SSN

Some have reported a longer wait then the quoted 3 weeks:

But SSN not required to start employment. Here is an example:

https://www.twc.texas.gov/news/efte/employees_without_ssns.html "It is certainly legal to hire someone who is authorized to work in this country, but who does not have a social security number or who chooses not to disclose it."

For employers that use E-Verify, the employer can select "Awaiting Social Security number." https://www.e-verify.gov/faq/my-employee-applied-for-a-social-security-number-ssn-but-has-not-yet-received-it-what-should-i "If a newly hired employee has applied for, but has not yet received his or her SSN (e.g., the employee is a newly arrived immigrant), attach an explanation to the employee’s Form I-9 and set it aside. Then create a case in E-Verify using the employee’s SSN as soon as it is available. If you are unable to create a case by the third business day after the employee’s first day of employment, select Awaiting Social Security number when prompted by E-Verify."

and GC?

USCIS says 90 days: https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/expect-green-card

But, your CBP-endorsed Immigrant Visa is a I-551 document: https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/temporary-i-551-stamps-and-mrivs “UPON ENDORSEMENT SERVES AS TEMPORARY I-551 EVIDENCING PERMANENT RESIDENCE FOR 1 YEAR.”

Also, what is the current wait time for receiving the SSN and GC?

https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

Enter the receipt number that is shown on the "USCIS Immigrant Fee payment receipt"

It can take 90-120 days for you to get your greencard.  We got lucky and USCIS mailed my wife's card 25 days after her entry to the US (she arrived Nov 25, USCIS mailed it Dec 20).

You should receive your SSN within three weeks of entry.  We did not.  We called SSA after 4 weeks, and they stated that there was no record of a request for SSN in the system.  So we filled out an SS-5 form and was able to get an interview at our local office.  Call your local SSA office after three weeks if your SSN card does not arrive.

We entered the USA at 21st of October 2020. Me and my 2 daughters. Me and my smaller one received our green cards only about 2 weeks ago, my oldest one still without it 🤷‍♀️ Soon will be 4 months since we entered.

Is her Receipt number for her Green Card in the email? https://www.uscis.gov/forms/filing-fees/uscis-immigrant-fee/uscis-immigrant-fee-payment-guide "You will receive a payment confirmation from ELISdonotreply@uscis.dhs.gov with the subject “Pay.gov Payment Confirmation: Immigrant Visa.” The email will include your receipt number beginning with the letters IOE. We encourage you to save this email for your records."

If so, use that Receipt number for an out of processing time e-request: https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayONPTForm.do?sroPageType=onpt Select form "OS155A"

The same has happened for my husband. He entered on 28th of October. He got his SSN within a few weeks but the status checker still says Immigrant Visa Fee Payment Received and when I tried to request more info they said I wasn’t outside of the processing time, so I guess the 90 days doesn’t mean anything right now 🤷🏻‍♀️

  • 2 months later...

Just by way of update, I just received an email from USCIS saying that my husband’s green card was ordered to be produced on April 24th. No idea how long it will take to actually get to us, but if there’s anybody out there who came in the last six months or so on an IR/CR-1 who’s still waiting for any movement with getting their physical green card - they do seem to be working on it. Just really, really slowly.
