Hi guys,

I filed for citizenship on February 2021. Just recently had my interview on November 10th, 2 days ago. Everything went really well passed the exam the officer was super nice, however i got the "no decision can be made" letter. The officer expressed that oath ceremonies happen within 6 weeks of approval. She told me i got nothing to worry about, she just needed to be get her supervisor signature.

However, my status online still says "interview has been scheduled", its been 2 days and no approval yet :(. Is this normal? I am seeing majority got approval and also status updated right away. Has anybody been in this situation? Appreciate your feedback and responses.

Thank you!

Hello - i had the interview on the same date as you in the Chicago office. Did you get approved? Did your online status change?

Mine is stuck at "interview scheudled" since November 10th :(  and just been waiting

I'm sorry to hear that. About 10 minutes after the interview my status changed to "We recommended that your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, be approved. Your case was submitted for quality review." Shortly thereafter, I got another update saying "Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled." No update regarding the oath ceremony but most Chicago people seem to be getting notices around 4 weeks post interview. I hope your status changes soon. Did you get an N-652 form at the end of the interview saying you passed, or decision cannot be made, or something else?

Edit: Just saw your post above. I have seen people discuss the inability of younger/junior interviewers to approve on the spot. It sounds like your interviewer was confident you passed/will be approved. I'm sure you will be, but i'm also sure the waiting sucks right now.

Thank you :) I got a no decision can be made.  that’s what I was told that supervisor signature required, but quoting the IO “have nothing to worry about and will get oath in mail, and that oath takes about 6 weeks”.

This waiting totally sucks though.

Field office was Philadelphia. I didn’t do anything but wait after the interview until I got the email about 30+ days later that case has been approved. I will urge you to be patient and try to take your mind off it. I almost drove myself crazy with nightmares researching why/what/If the decision will be made/denied etc. You will be approved eventually no matter how long it takes. Wishing you and everyone good luck in this journey and a positive outcome.

Hi all,

Silent reader for long, but wanted to share my journey with fellow February filers:

(initially on H1/H4 -> green card) applied employment based 5yr rule  / Washington DC field office / applied online - here are some dates:

Applied: February 15 week, 2021
Interview: November 15 week, 2021

Scheduled Oath ceremony: November 29 week, 2021

It took some time for oath ceremony to get scheduled after interview - the lady said approved at end of interview, but status took some time to update.

Sailing in the same boat. Had my interview 3 months ago with 'Decision cannot be made yet' status. Have been waiting. Online status is still the same. Nothing has changed. Cant get through any rep over the phone no mater what I say. It's so frustrating.

How do you bypass the IVR and get to talk to someone?

I had my interview 9 months ago, still nothing!  I called several times and they couldn't give me any info.  I contacted my Senator, and apparently my A-file is at the Federal Records Center and USCIS has not received it yet to continue with the decision, very weird.

What field office did you filed in?
